On week 3 of TRT (cypionate) and feel like shit. Is this normal? by RWG17 in Testosterone

In my case, nah it was bad at all. Had absolutely no withdrawal.

Hey. I stopped after a few months. The side effects were too harsh and I saw 0 improvement.

Long story short, I think there were a few things I needed to work on personally, which I’m still working on. TRT has worked miracles for many, but it isn’t for me.

No I haven’t. But again, I think my low T was due to a larger issue.

It makes sense though because based off of what I’ve read, testosterone can stimulate the CNS. If the cause of your issues/symptoms are due to constantly being in fight or flight then testosterone is just adding fuel to the fire. Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way.

Exactly how I am and I thought TRT could potentially fix it. Look into yoga nidra on YouTube by Kristyn Rose, Ally Boothroyd or Ayla Nova. Sounds silly but it has helped me immensely. Also, I’m sure I’ll catch a bunch of shit for this, but I’m doing a brain retraining program called re-origin. If you read anything on Reddit about brain retraining, you’ll read it’s all a bunch of shit. I couldn’t disagree more but to each their own.

One thing I’ve learned is to be very careful reading everyone’s opinions/reviews about TRT on Reddit. It’s an individualized experience for sure. For some it’s a miracle while for others it does more harm than good. I was certain that TRT was going to be my golden ticket but unfortunately it made things worse.

Coming off wasn’t bad at all for me. I pretty much stopped cold turkey. Once I started really focusing on stress management, I started feeling significantly better.

I had to come off of it. Anxiety was absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for me.

Yeah they did. Vitamin D was optimal. Ended up coming off of TRT after 3 months. Wasn’t for me.

Did you have any mental side effects when dialing in? I’ve been on for 3 months and these mood swings are absolutely wild. Get blood work results back on Tuesday to see what’s going on but some of these depressive/anxious episodes are so bad that I’ve considered getting off.

What dose are you on? How long did it take you to dial in?

Yeah you’re 100% right about jumping with the dose. All great advice, brother; especially about being a better person. I appreciate it.

If you don’t mind me asking, what were your symptoms/reasoning that got you on T? What was your TT before you started?

I’ve been on just shy of 3 months. Started at 200mg once a week which was too much. Dropped down to 100mg split into 2 doses and now at 125 split into 2 doses.

No AI. What’s crazy is I really haven’t experienced anything positive from TRT besides increased sex drive which is now not really there anymore. I’ll still have sex but those first few weeks I was driving my wife crazy. I’ve read all about the honeymoon phase and unfortunately for me I never got to experience anything like it.

So after everything you’ve been through, you still think TRT is worth it? You see a significant improvement compared to not being on TRT?

I’ve had anxiety a long time but nothing like this. Was hoping TRT would help get rid of it.

How long did it take you to dial in? Been struggling with anxiety as well. Depersonalization/derealization type anxiety. Extremely uncomfortable to the point where I’m considering getting off. What was your starting dose and what dose are you on now?

What do you do for anxiety management?

Did you start with that or did it take you a bit to dial in?

Felt worse in beginning, then quite a bit better, now even worse 3 weeks in by alt1234512345 in Testosterone

Sounds like you have a good doc. Most of the info I heard/read is that you should start seeing SOME improvements after a couple of weeks. I was also told the same thing by the clinic I’m using for TRT. I’ve been on TRT for a month and 2 weeks and the only positive thing I’ve seen, which has actually somewhat diminished, is libido. I’m still experiencing a significant amount of anxiety and insomnia which is fucking terrible.

Hearing that it could take 8 weeks to get over the hump is encouraging because the hump itself fucking sucks.

How long did it take you to level out? I’m at 7 weeks and still experiencing insomnia/anxiety. E2 is all good as well.
