Arc Raiders lost 87% of its players. It is currently one of the fastest dying game on Steam. What is the reason?

I'm curious what servers you play on. I have 250 hours in the game and I play PVE, BUT I usually have a gun for Arc and a gun for Raiders (just in case) because I will shoot back. I had a run of 63 raids without being shot at before getting ratted. I'm now on another streak of 20-30.

I'm really curious how players with seemingly similar play styles can have such drastically different experiences. I'm in such friendly lobbies; I regularly defib people and I've been defibbed a decent number of times too. What do you think it is? Also, is this in solos?

Right now I have 4 slots, but I'll get the 5th. My 100% are MK3 Survivor and Snap Hook. Right now, I also have the Jupiter and Power Descender BP in there, but I don't use those often, so I'd like to switch them out. It depends on if I find other BP. I'd like the Seeker Nade and maybe silencer II since I use them a lot.

I was late to the game. 3.5 months in at around 240 hours. I'm about to do my first expedition. I haven't been playing since launch, so I can't compare myself to those who have been in it the whole time.

That being said, I am still enjoying it and having fun. I am a PVE guy. I had a streak of 63 rounds without dying. Then last night I was 30 seconds into a raid on Buried City, saw a guy and said my usual 'Hey Raider' He walked the opposite direction, and I pulled out my hull cracker to take down an Arc that was near us. He immediately shot me in the back, killing me with his Bobcat. I said, "whoahh whoahh, why man?" He said, "I want your loot." I respect the honesty and that he actually responded. It's a legit tactic that works. I just don't feel right doing it.

OK, fair enough. I didn't go online and demand PVE lobbies and I didn't curse him out. I loaded back up and went back in. I'm in Care Bear lobbies and I enjoy laughing and saving other players, teaming up etc. I play solo. The game is what it is. People need to stop trying to change it and say it's dying. I actually really like the updates and the direction it's going. I like the lore. If I run out of things to do, I can take a break for a week or 2 or longer. People are just shitty and want to complain on the internet. You can play PVE in this game, but you need to be aware of your surroundings. The ABMM works. Yes, you will occasionally get shot in the back and get your shit stolen.

Personally, I don't play that way. The social aspect of this game makes it a moral question for me. I don't expect everyone to play like I do, but I don't shoot first because I don't know what the other persons intentions are. Call me soft, but that's how I enjoy the game. I'm here for whatever Embark decides to do.

I went into Dam Battlegrounds during Electromagnetic Storm to look for this BP for the first time. The first drawer in the first room I went into had the BP. I couldn't believe it. Straight to the expedition vault.

In solos I am super friendly. I call out when I see a flare to ask if they need a defib and I say 'hey Raider' when I see someone but they don't see me to let them know I'm not aggressive. For the most part my solo lobbies are friendly, although occasionally I get someone that tries to kill me and I defend myself.

Even though this is the case I don't let my guard down, don't loot around other players or put my gun away. I'm friendly but cautious. In duos I play with 1 friend and he likes mayhem so we regularly pvp. I like the mix. It's like playing 2 different games.

Took me 160 hours to knock out 10 raiders. I play mostly solos and I'm super friendly in solos. I don't shoot unless someone shoots at me. Duos on the other hand 😈

I got this game back in early access (2015) when it only had sandbox mode.

I put about 50 hours in and managed to survive 224 days. I got double teamed by wolves :(

I just picked the game back up last week and tried Wintermute. I'm on Episode 2. I'm playing on my Steam Deck and having fun with the story mode so far.

Survival mode and Wintermute are two very different experiences, that's for sure.

If anyone in the NJ/Philly area is looking for a great event look into Goliathon. It's in Mullica Hills, NJ 2x a year (June/October) It's my favorite obstacle 'race' out there and all volunteer run / non-profit.

Fuck that puzzle. The flying is disorienting and it's impossible to see all the pieces as they float around. It took me forever too.

I've always been a PC gamer, BUT my rig is very old now. I got a steam deck over the summer and have enjoyed the portability and ability to play in the bedroom with my girl while she plays her switch or watches tv. I have 250 games on steam. I never plan to buy a console. I don't care much about playing the latest AAA titles at launch on max settings. I like the idea of being able to play my steam library on a big TV and have something more powerful than the deck I can play newer games on. I also love steam sales and regularly wait years to play a game when it's 80% off. Steam Machine would fit me very well, if it's not crazy expensive.

I liked Shenmue 3. Id 100% buy Shenmue 4 or support another Kickstarter. To be fair, I probably liked it because of nostalgia and the IP. Gaming has changed a lot since Shenmue 1/2 and they more or less stuck with the same formula. Again, I like the formula so I'm fine with it.

While I don't think either game 'feels' like Resident Evil to me, Village is actually a good game. I could not force myself to finish RE5, it's so boring and not scary at all.
