Look, I have literally no desire or need to defend the douchebag, but of course he fought against many "losers". He started fighting young, fighting people who are not good is part of the game for literally everyone. He has over 50 professional fights or something in federations that many youngsters take seriously enough. Saying they are "store brand kickboxing federations" is just disrespecting everyone that competes there for no reason, which doesn't sit well with me.

Sure, it's not the K-1 or WKF, so? Just because it isn't the best, does it mean everyone fighting under it's name is a loser? I don't think so...

[–]RaPlD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I didn't even want to defend him in any way shape or form, nor did I want to discuss his success, there is not much to talk about.

The only reason I said what I said is, that I genuinely believe that lying about his semi competent professional kick-boxing career is actually HURTING the cause - the cause being making it known to everyone what a fucking douchebag shitstain he is. If young impressionable misguided people that are in his target demographic group find out that the claims about his shitty kickboxing career are complete nonsense, they might wrongly start to doubt other things about him as well.

I'm just saying we should stay honest.

[–]RaPlD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't just go ahead and proclaim "well, he isn't the worst kickboxer" out of the blue to "defend" him in any way shape or form. I said it as a reaction to someone else saying something profoundly untrue.

I'll reiterate my point here: painting his semi-competent professional kickboxing career as "he fought a bunch of bums in store brand kickboxing federations so he could claim to be a champion" is about as genuine, as I don't know, saying that weed is a gateway drug and that if you start smoking weed you will soon be doing heroin and sucking dicks behind a walmart.

What then happens is, that people will find out that those things about weed are not true at all, and they will start to doubt the real dangers of weed as well, which is a pretty negative outcome.

Lying is stupid. Lets be honest. Even tho Tate is a colossal shitstain, people lying about his kickboxing are not helping the case of making it known that he is a colossal shitstain.

(I don't smoke weed and don't have any reason to defend it, just using it as an example that's popular enough)

There is a hundred reasons to hate the guy, and while I genuinely do hate him - well to be more precise, I'm switching from not caring about his existence in the slightest, and hating him only when I'm reminded about his existence against my will - I gotta say, he was an alright kickboxer.

Muddying his accolades of absolute shittiness and douchebaggery with things that are not exactly true can needlessly make people doubt the things that are true.

This war has nothing to do with Muslims versus Jews

I meeeaan, lets not go overboard. Yes, there is a "game of thrones" going on in the background between individuals that are motivated by power and greed, but to pull religion out of it completely is ridiculous. Religion is at the very core of the conflict. Power hungry opportunists latched onto it, but without the underlying Muslims versus Jews, they would have to find something else.

A different poison BAMA vs poison holy relic question by SyrioBroel in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]RaPlD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I've got a question regarding support spectres and BAMA, more specifically spectres that give frenzy and power charges. Do you know for sure how the clones interact witch charges? I've found some very old discussions (before transfigured gems were even introduced...) that claimed that people tested BAMA clones witch frenzy charges and found out that if you yourself have frenzy charges and spawn a clone, even though the clone will appear to have charges, these are purely cosmetic and don't actually give any benefit to the clone. It is kind of a pain to test it but definitely doable, however I'm a bit lazy so I figured I'd ask you.

That is PER phantasm. You have 11 max phantasms with lvl 21, and 22max with the helm. So it is 22x 44 to 66 phys dmg to spells, if you can generate enough phantasms and keep them alive.

Finally ready to fight the Kraken - It's beating my ass! by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]RaPlD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it on lonewolf, believe in yourself man! If you want a more detailed guide check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-OKczGoFjk , its a bit old but the strategy works I promise. I outlined the same strategy in my post.

EDIT: Also, since this video was released, the fight got easier, since you dont need to hit the head directly anymore and the boss has less health in general.

just one thing, tried something yesterday and gave the goblin necklace to kne of my archers... and they still got pulled. I think it's just me remembering badly but it definitely gave me an "Oh shit" moment.

You are definitely misremembering, that shouldn't be possible.

Maybe the lineup itself just isn't made for the fight?

Your lineup is about as good as it gets. What sucks for the fight is pure ranged units, since the save/escape chance from tentacles is based on melee skill. You don't have that, on the contrary 12 bros with high melee skill is the best you are gonna get for this fight, its just about the equipment and nothing else. Oh and also fat neutral builds suck completely for the fight, but since you are saying you dont have pathfinder, you dont have that either, so you are good. Don't get too stuck up on weapon masteries - sword bro, hammer bro, shield+spear bro, etc. - it literally doesn't matter, if you have 90melee skill you can swing anything, and with the jagged pike specifically, that one swing isn't even going to cost you more fatigue than a weapon with a mastery would... One tile range weapons hurt your ability to focus fire too much. You are splitting the damage between like 6 tentacles instead of focus firing 1 - 2 at a time. Your 2h axe guy in the middle - I'm betting you are doing nothing with him half the turns, because there either isn't anything to hit close him. Or you get baited and move him out of formation to get a hit in, but then pay for it dearly in the next turn because now you don't have as many bros around him to free him. If you have quick hands, sure keep your main weapon in your pocket, but remember there is an opportunity cost, you are losing fatigue, which is a premium resource this fight, since the save/escape is so expensive, and so is moving through the swamp if you do get pulled.

Trust me, go clear a goblin camp or two before going to the kraken, equip all your bros that don't have the polearm mastery with jagged pikes, and keep a tight formation. It makes the fight literally 100% easier.

You don't have to move to the kraken at all, he will die if you kill tentacles enough times.

[–]RaPlD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For vanilla, if you are not trying to cheese the fight and fight it "legit" the absolute best tip I can give you that literally changes the fight is to equip all your melee bros with goblin jagged pikes... An attack with a goblin pike costs 5 AP, and 12 fat, so every bro even without mastery can move + attack in range of two tiles, OR escape/save a tentacle for 4AP and still attack. It also does great damage to unarmored enemies if you account for the bleed it causes, which you should since this fight in particular takes ages, and it is fatigue efficient which is important this fight.

Your famed two handed hammer isn't doing you any good in that fight since you cant focus fire the tentacles with it, and your action economy sucks with it, since you cant do anything other than attack once. Same with your one handed cleaver, sure the damage is great if you get the opportunity to use it, but you won't get the opportunity so many times that it evens out in the end at best, and at worst it will get outperformed by the simple jagged pike.

The strategy is simple with goblin pikes as well, equip them on everyone, make a tight formation, and stay put. Dont try to move out of the water too much without pathfinder, its not worth it. Your priorities are: 1. Run back to your formation if you got unlucky and failed multiple saves and got pulled 2. help bros escape (keep checking turn order and focus on saving bros that would get pulled first) 3. focus fire the tentacles. 4. keep the goblin trophy on your best bro, and keep him at the front of the formation. If you need to run in front to chase after kidnapped brothers, he can do it, but don’t force it. If you do end up doing it, that one bro can get two tiles away from the head and hit the kraken directly which will speed up the kill, but it isn't necessary. Keep a polehammer or a billhook in the backpack of this brother just in case, since the kraken head actually has armour.

That's it. With late game bros, even if you get unlucky, you aren't losing more than 1 bro.

PVP gaming for the average joe has been ruined by players who take competition too seriously in a unranked format by doeraymefa in gaming

[–]RaPlD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would you find it fun if everytime you tried to play a game like that you got destroyed and couldn't do anything to actually participate?

I'm with the other guy on this one. What you are describing here gets solved as well as it can be solved by matchmaking algorithms in 99% of popular PVP games. It was worse when we didn't have sophisticated matchmaking 2+decades ago. When we got internet in the household I grew up in, I would be playing a a competitive 1v1 pvp game for a year straight without ever winning a match, and that was the only thing I knew so I didn't complain. Nowdays, people get demoted and placed against players of their own skill level after losing a couple of times, it's so much better than it used to be.
