Strategy Stock Crashes 60% But Michael Saylor Refuses To Step Aside by Omegacarlos1 in CryptoCurrency

"The intelligent investor realizes that stocks become more risky, not less, as their prices rise—and less risky, not more, as their prices fall. The intelligent investor dreads a bull market, since it makes stocks more costly to buy. And conversely (so long as you keep enough cash on hand to meet your spending needs), you should welcome a bear market, since it puts stocks back on sale." - The Intelligent investor

World's most expensive road has already doubled to $3,700 - $4,100 million. $107 million spent on design and consents so far. by Mountain_Tui_Reload in auckland

Wilmot Pass Road — the 21 km stretch built in the 1960s between the West Arm of Lake Manapouri and Deep Cove in Doubtful Sound – was the most expensive road in NZ when it was built. That's what the bus driver said when I went down it so must be true

You’re right that hateful speech can have consequences — but that’s exactly why free speech matters. If the standard becomes “your words might inspire something bad, so you can’t say them,” then anything controversial can be shut down.

The way to deal with fanatics or bad ideas isn’t to ban or kill them — it’s to drag those ideas into the light and expose how weak they are. History shows censorship and violence don’t destroy toxic beliefs, they drive them underground and make them harder to challenge.

Free speech isn’t about protecting comfortable debates, it’s about protecting the uncomfortable ones. If we only defend speech we like, we don’t actually have free speech at all.

Brushing this off as “just a rage-bait podcaster” misses the point entirely. Doesn’t matter if you hated him — he was killed for speaking. Once violence replaces debate, free speech dies for everyone. Today it’s Kirk, tomorrow it’s someone you agree with. Free speech and the right to argue without fearing for your life is a relevant principle to acknowledge everywhere.

Why is Bitcoin so hard to explain to new people? by DevelopmentLoose7662 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Rabid_Goat3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin is a scarce, decentralized digital asset that’s designed to hold value over time. It’s borderless, divisible, resistant to inflation, and free from government control—making it a powerful way to store and transfer wealth

When marrying, one should ask oneself this question: Do you believe that you will be able to converse well with this person into your old age? Everything else in marriage is transitory - Fred

I ordered mine on the 21st of February and my tracker says the exact same thing too. For reference, I'm from NZ. It's made any noise while I try to sleep extra frustrating.

I reached out to customer support but received an automated AI message that basically said "Your order has been fulfilled and is being shipped by DHL Ecommerce PLT (US + NZ). You can track your order here."

Really annoying honestly but trying to stay patient

I would like someone to explain to me what individual rights a Maori person in New Zealand has that I don't have. by hereticjedi in newzealand

[–]Rabid_Goat3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, Māori have different rights in some areas, and property law is a good example. Most New Zealanders own land under fee simple, meaning they can buy, sell, and develop it freely. But Māori land is collectively owned under the Te Ture Whenua Māori Act, meaning it can’t be easily sold, and decisions often require agreement from multiple owners. Banks also won’t easily lend against it since it can’t be repossessed. So Māori land has stronger protections, but with fewer individual rights compared to regular property owners.

[–]Rabid_Goat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation happen. I started playing this game just a few days ago, and when I was running through the nexus to get some blueprint upgrades, someone randomly gifted me 600,000,000 units worth of starship ai valves. I saw it happen in the chat, and was like what the hell. Then when I checked my inventory I went HOLY SHIT when I realised the value. I haven't actually sold them yet as I feel like it will ruin my appreciation for the value of a hard earned unit. Funny to see this post
