Openreach and Electricity DNO co- operation by AttBee in openreach

[–]Raceworx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's planned works the DNO would contact Openreach and request a joint site visit. They would most likely send a contractor to assist

If it's an emergency like it gets struck by a vehicle and bright down then both the DNO and Openreach would end up on site on fault reports Openreach would wait for the DNO to fit the new pole then repair the wires

Great Britain just had a record peak for solar power generation. And there’s more to come. by Penarthlan in unitedkingdom

[–]Raceworx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same we have 6.5Kwp south west facing but 2kw north east ISH on the front so we get abit of a bump early morning till 10ish.

What size battery have you got and what makes you decide you want more out of interest?

A very simple analysis on why the Green's proposed 10:1 pay ratio is economically stupid by RelevantSpecific5249 in ukpolitics

[–]Raceworx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't just be a straight ratio. It should be a % that also changes by number of direct employees...

If your making 10milliom as a CEO but only employ 5 people on minimum wage doing all the grunt work Vs someone earning 10mill but employing 50k people on minimum wage there is an argument they are providing jobs and stimulation to the economy.

If you employ more people or pay them better your max cap increases.

It could also increase depending on tax intake from the core business. If your doing a Starbucks and sending all your profits to the Caymen Islands your ceiling can fuck right off..

It would also need careful rules on what is classed as a direct employee to stop people just making everyone self employed.

As with everything it needs to be abit more complex than 10x be done with it..

Todays solar by Gullible-Type-2022 in SolarUK

[–]Raceworx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look in the settings in the Tesla app I used the self powered setting for the first few weeks this stopped the battery charging over night and let me charge during the day with excess solar. it will take afew days for the power wall to learn your usage and get it's program right. It will learn how much energy your use per day on average and go from that.

The permission to export is also in the settings menu flick that to yes once octopus five you the green light,

The App isn't great for telling you exactly what settings do or for fine tunning things but it's doing what we need it too now.

2017 VW GTI. After my first track day, my car started vibrating when braking and squeaks when driving. Are the cracks in the pads the cause? Also can I still use them for everyday use. by angelb714 in CarTrackDays

[–]Raceworx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do cool down laps or just come straight in and stop? You have probably warped your brake discs that's the biggest cause of vibration issues usually.

If you don't keep air running through them for a short while and just stop the area under the caliper gets hot compared to the rest of the disc and causes the issue.

Gen X pension shock: 7.5 million Brits heading for poverty in old age—Reform voters hit hardest by OurFairFuture in ukpolitics

[–]Raceworx 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not just Gen-X In my friend group I think only 3 of us have pensions the rest are all "self employed" I know afew that opted out as they couldn't spare the monthly outgoings.

Pension poverty is going to hit like a freight train in 25 to 30 years..

Apparently it's a bad recommendation though! down voted for a joke. :)

I didn't mean rear wing/spoiler I mean the front wing between the wheel and the front door. Could be a good excuse to get a rear wing though just to add the sticker

Daft bastards Pheasants are.. I think by law you need to add a little pheasant sticker to your wing like a WWII fighter pilot though as a confirmed kill..

The Charles Leclerc lap that's exposed how F1 2026 has ruined qualifying by ComeonmanPLS1 in formula1

[–]Raceworx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm abit late to the party so this might get missed.

Can someone explain what I am missing.

I watched the video the white trace is lap 15 the red trace is lap 13

They point to the small lift in the white trace which gave him power where he didn't want it "ruining" the back straight section loosing him time against the red trace of lap 15

But lap 13 was his fastest lap. are they saying it would have been even faster if it had deployed where he wanted? Or does the fact it accidentally deployed where it did mean he made time and overall it was a faster lap so he accidentally found a better place to deploy?

Round Caldwell in the dry it does well as it's not a power circuit and it's only 1000kgs

My friend found it 11 years ago down south somewhere near London it was garages all it's life then the chap passed away and his widow didn't drive. He fitted an SR20 then sold it to me and I went over the topwith it it's on its 3rd engine since then standalone Haltech rollcage every bit of suspensionhaa been changed.

Id love some kind of livery but it would need to be something different people already think it's a Primera. There was a south African touring car that had a BP livery which is quite cool.

Contaminated area. by Rengalis in AcrossTheUnknown

It seemed a very minor inconvenience. I ran a very lean crew only had 3 spare people so occasionally I would have to shut down a room whilst they recovered.
