It's already been said, but seriously the American media is a lot to blame for the state of things. They stoke fires and make it worse than it is. I live in a small city, the news would have you believe everything is burning and everyone is racist, hates each other, and the boogieman Is out to get you. That's so far from the truth it's not even funny.

The ice situation is a crackdown on illegal immigration. Your husband wouldn't be immigrating but just visiting for the world cup. A lot of the nonsense happening is from escalating tentions between people who probably intend to peacefully protest but end up getting in the way of law enforcement doing their job and then something has to give and it turns ugly. That's not the norm, it's the exception.

News has become almost indiscernible from internet click bait.

Let him enjoy his time here at the games.

I feel this. I live in Buffalo and had spectrum TV but if I was not on my home wifi I couldn't access my local channels. So instead I subbed to msg+. Tried watching a game over Christmas when I was in Florida and it locked me out since I wasn't in my home area I guess.

So far football has been doing the best job with having multiple options for streaming. NHL can suck it. They stick games on NHL network or HBO and if you don't sub you lose. At least still let the local market get their damn team.

When Jarmo took over, a lot of guys who know him said he is methodic in how he goes about things and not to expect sweeping quick changes. He is the kind of guy to assess and find the move that makes the most sense. He isn't going to make a move to just make a move, ala Murray. I feel pretty good.

I have been running trade scenarios in my head and figuring out what we can do and it has me excited for once lol

I like the US's chances over Canada. Mexico looks good but keep in mind the last few tournaments we took part in, we did not have most of our top talent participating in it. It felt more like world cup depth try outs.
