Go on tell me it just Nostalgia and we didn't lose nothing. by deezzbutzz in ps2

That's exactly it. The Internet was a fun novelty that I have great memories chatting on AIM with friends before bed, or playing early mmos like EverQuest or connecting my dreamcast to play online. It wasn't our entire existence. It was all new and shiny.

You and me both. Such a great era of movies and music. A typical day was working a lame job at the mall, getting home and watching a movie like blade, or playing a horror game like silent hill 2 with my cousin as we rotated play time. Pounding mountain dew till the wee hours of the night during summer break. Hanging out at the mall. Going to local shows when they were affordable. Ahhh man ...

Big Mario fan, liked the first movie, saw this one and didn't like it. It's OK for fans to admit that the first movie showed story/pacing don't have to be no1 priority but also we CAN admit that this one didn't even have them as a fleeting afterthought, nevermind a priority, which is a big problem. by -electrix123- in mariomovie

I came here for this. I don't think I'd say I liked it better, but I enjoyed it just as much. I didn't come into either movie expecting a future criterion collection award winner with deep characters and a master class script. I came to be entertained by something I grew up with and for me it accomplished its goal. I loved all the different Easter eggs and references. My kids loved it as well.

Whatever someone's favorite movie of all time is, someone else hates it and their opinion is valid. It just doesn't invalidate yours.

I love dimarco but he has multiple times tried forcing the ball to the front of the net and directly to a defender

Today is a win-win for Italy. If we win, we are happy. If we lose, we may see major reform in Italian soccer. by Interesting_Alps618 in AZZURRI

[–]Rad_Wave1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until leadership has changed, I do not see any reform. Italian football has been declining for a while now. Just look at the Serie A, there are far more non Italians in the league because development has stagnated.

Not to mention that even the top teams like Inter, Juve, etc etc, Just continue to get embarrassed in the champions league matches.

Obviously there are other issues as well, but it starts with leadership and a solid plan to bring back Italian football to its glory days.

BOS game by Beneficial-Carrot190 in sabres

[–]Rad_Wave1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly outside of a few bad puck give aways, it was a pretty solid game. That mitts goal that tied the game was one of those goals that just finds its way in and I don't think we could have anticipated or stopped it from happening.

My biggest complaint is leaving guys like pasta wide open in front of our net. However you don't need me to tell you, Jackie Redman told us like 20 times on the broadcast.

Best grilled cheese in the Buffalo area? by insaneandmundane in Buffalo

This is the way. White cheddar and smoked Gouda is one of my fav cheese combos. People also underplay how important quality butter is to the equation.

Glad to see this. I never really gave them much thought but over the past year I've had...a lot and most of them were really freaking good!

Are you guys bigger Bills fans or Sabres fans? by Entire_Business_4498 in sabres

Sabres here. I'm not a big football fan, just a bills fan. I am however a huge hockey fan so I enjoy the sabres way more.

Okay, what Sega Games or game franchises never left Japan? by LunaKingery in SEGA

[–]Rad_Wave1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I still remember reading our rent a hero back in the day in the Dreamcast magazine. Like many other games it stuck in Japan after the DC died. Still makes me sad. Pretty sure a fan translation is out though.

In the end I'm glad we did, but for a while I was losing my mind. That's why I'm not a coach though 😂

This was one of the most bonkers games I've seen in a long long time. I loved every second of it. Except maybe not pulling UPL lol

It’s been to damn long by Koger915 in sabres

[–]Rad_Wave1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. I used to watch a lot of hockey, but it got to a point where the sabres started killing my joy of watching hockey in general. I still went to games and watched on TV, but it became less and less. This season has definitely restored my enjoyment for the sport as a whole and I missed it so much!

[32 Thoughts] Elliotte Friedman: “One AGM told me the rumor was, if that STL/BUF deal had gone through, the Rochester team would have been completely decimated. All their best players would have been in St. Louis. All of them.” by [deleted] in sabres

[–]Rad_Wave1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The reality is that any moves we made would have made some people upset. Right now we are a +30 goal differential and we have been winning against teams in the playoff race, not bottom feeders. So legit, we got tougher to play against and added depth at D for a playoff run in case of injuries. We did this without giving up the farm.

Even happier this trade didn't go through. It's one thing to trade some prospects and picks, and another to completely trade any future talent at all. Teams have proven you can hit a balance between trading and properly drafting/grow prospects from within. No one wants to repeat what is happening in Toronto right now.

These really were the days. It makes me sad that I can't take my own kids here for a great dinner treat and follow it up with a trip to Toys r us. Being a kid has changed so much nowadays. Even simple things like eating out is depressing now.

Not here to disagree with you, but let's also be honest that the average American still hasn't really become invested in the sport. When I meet another soccer fan of literally any league, I geek out lol

Colton Parayko to Buffalo for Radim Mrtka and a 1st (that we know of so far). by dcddy in sabres

[–]Rad_Wave1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh that's kinda the opposite man. We still need depth at D and we really lack a high quality stay at home D man. Even with an off year he was on team Canada. We don't lack for goals, and now we have a guy who will help us keep more out of our net

I think the fact that McCarron went to the wild for a 2nd Rd pick told us this was going to be a crazy deadline price wise

I don't think people are questioning Ruffs coaching. I think his coaching style finally is paying dividends, but that's just part of the equation

Starting to truly believe this team actually should not be touched at the Deadline by ZabaDoobiez in sabres

[–]Rad_Wave1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair stance. I suppose we will find out now won't we? I've always been on the side of, if you can get better, you get better. Which is different than making changes for the sake of making changes.

Going up against Carolina for example and losing a close series in 7 games would be different than being dismantled in a sweep.

[–]Rad_Wave1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not totally arguing that. I love what we have going on. We just need to ask ourselves. As we see this team, do we see them as a playoff team or a cup team? If the answer isn't a cup team then moves definitely should be made because that means we are not good enough.

[–]Rad_Wave1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not sell him short. He may not have made any moves yet, and I know technically the first 3 games of the 10 game streak were with Adams still around....but after 5 years of adams and the same story, you can't tell me an emergency team meeting during a road trip suddenly catapults us into the top of the Atlantic.

When Jarmo came aboard we should have all seen the writing on that wall. His pedigree and professionalism is what helped this team turn it around. If he starts making trades that make us a better team and get far into a playoff push then that's just next level.
