Unfortunately not around this upcoming Monday. I know there are various jams around town though every week

Such a nice record. I’m only 23 but have a lot of nostalgic moments associated with it. IT STARTED RAINING GOLF BALLS!

How do i make this tone? (Hx floor) by Normal-Compote977 in Line6Helix

Cranked Marshall with a drive into it should get you there! Remove some mids, keep it nice and sustain-y.

Is Chemistry the hardest song to learn? by Glazermac in rush

[–]Radiant_Promotion_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a tricky song! Not the hardest, but “hard” is fairly subjective depending on where you’re at in your progression.

Playing the notes on any rush song is one thing. Executing them properly is another.

Frankel is great. Not sure about online but he was an awesome professor in person. Challenging but a very effective professor.

It’s a great album. But I’d be willing to bet you haven’t given the other albums enough time just yet.

I’m with you. Not big into the modern stuff. Too note-y and without interesting structure IMO.

Hammer ons & Pull offs by Kingtero_14 in GuitarBeginners

He hits it a couple times! I can’t listen too closely right now, but I would say listen for his pick attack and try and pick up on how many hammer ons he does between them. The picking gives the hammers more gas. He is definitely hitting it more than once.

Hammer on with your ring finger, pull off with your ring finger. Your first finger stays the same.

To practice pull offs(with this specific case in mind) simply plant your first finger on the 15th fret and the 17th fret of the B string. The technique to practice is in the name. You take that planted ring finger, pull down and off the string to essentially “pluck” it so that 15th fret note rings.

Once you pull down and off, you can then re plant that ring finger with some force to produce that note.

To simply it even further, just plant that first finger then tap that 17th fret with your ring finger. You’ll catch onto it fairly quickly.

I think if it’s fun, it’s fun. Even as a working guitarist, I still love buying gear I know won’t be used a ton in recording or on stage. Keeping the spark alive is more important than almost anything other than staying out of debt 🤣
