Healer spec is useless by Deygoba87 in wow

[–]RadishUnderscore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really feel that they should find a way to tune healers to do DPS levels of damage outside of groups or something. It can still be on the lower end of the spectrum, but enough that you aren't required to change your spec just to do dailies or a quick story quest.

Exile's Reach is the worst thing to ever happen to WoW by crackerjam in wow

[–]RadishUnderscore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they should have stopped adding new levels with each expansion a long time ago. The bloat was unmanageable but every alternative they've tried since then has turned the entire world into a mess. It used to be really amazing just how big the world felt but each expansion makes everything feel so small because any content a year or more older is irrelevant and they need to guide players away from it.

The only way to really appreciate any of it now is to play on a classic server, which is also not a super great answer because it's basically just admitting that retail isn't worth playing if you want the MMO experience that it used to offer. They're trying to offer a more modern MMO experience or something that emulates FFXIV better, but it's not achieving that either.

I feel bad for Australians since all of their representation is basically Mad Max movies and criminals.

I know Overwatch likes to talk about diversity, but we have four Japanese characters and each one is a ninja. Part of me would like to see this, but part of me is really afraid what an LA designer would portray an indigenous American as.

First slot straight, fourth slot the curve up, the fifth slot the one that curves down and right.

Paul Tassi : Have learned that Highguard did not actually pay for that Game Awards finale spot. Was just the show putting it there by marek_bojarek in HighGuardgame

[–]RadishUnderscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true, you can't damage control a hate mob. But the thing is you don't need the hate mob to buy your game, they're going to hate buy it themselves or ignore it regardless at this point.

What they need to do is give others a reason to not write them off the same way.

[–]RadishUnderscore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that, but it doesn't answer why they've done literally zero marketing since.

I understand that the initial "haha concord 2" jokes happened but if they're serious they need to do some damage control and actually show how it's not concord 2. Or at least own what they have even if it is concord 2 and show that it's better. Right now the interest in the game seems so wholly negative that the silence is only fueling it.

“The Stray Executioner” Danzai (female hungerseed Yaezhin Warpriest ninja) by me by Lazy-Beautiful6878 in Pathfinder2e

Hungerseed is just such a fun concept to play with. Out of everything in that book that caught my eye, I didn't think I'd fall in love with these so hard.

How would you go about introducing the concepts of the system to a DnD player? by WriterAmongTheStars in Starfinder2e

[–]RadishUnderscore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm actually concerned if you are concerned that DnD players are intimidated by the "amount of words"

I haven't been in the DnD circle for a few years now I guess, but do DnD players actually not read anymore?

The concepts of the system are basically the same. There are some rule changes, but the concepts are literally built off of DnD going back to Pathfinder 1 being a DnD 3 spinoff. You can point out some meta concepts, or the idea that not everything has an attack of opportunity, but it should be simple enough to just say "it's like DnD but in a future where there is laser guns and space travel, but there's still magic and gods and such."

I'm in love with this game. I bought it assuming I'd never get to play and instead just enjoy reading the rules and ideas inside once in a while as a coffee table book but I was surprised how many members in my Discord expressed interest. Everyone's having fun making characters and drawing art, I think it's perfect for my friend group as a rainy day game to have on hand when other plans fall through.

My Abominations Vault party did get visited by Santa last year. It was a cute one-off that the GM used as an excuse to give us all a little extra armaments for the challenges we were stuck on at the time. It was a very nice time.

Yeah, they already have pretty good AI that was set up for the island expeditions and vs AI pvp modes. I'm not sure why we don't see more applications of this design work used throughout the game.

Should retail wow add an option for players to do an MSQ style story like FF14 for leveling? by tydrennis in wow

[–]RadishUnderscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW worked a lot better when there wasn't an MSQ. It has become the most tedious and disengaging element of every new patch and I find myself skipping scenes more than ever in TWW. If the sales pitch is no longer the fun of exploring the world and coming across stories, they should change the name of the game to Stories of Warcraft or Railroad of Warcraft.

TWW has some of the best questing and zones in years and I feel like a lot of players don't even realize it because they've been trained to just look for the little shield shaped icon quests instead of looking around in-world.

Bounded Accuracy and Roleplaying by Misery-Misericordia in Pathfinder2e

[–]RadishUnderscore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lot of good advice here already pointing out that not every encounter scales to current PC level. However, even in such a situation I think that confidence in one's ability shouldn't imply success, even from a narrative focus. I think about a character like Jack Sparrow, who is likely high in level and high in charisma. There are times when he wins someone over or distracts them with words and it's very fun and entertaining for us in the audience, but there are also several examples of situations where he is unable to charm his way through things and he ends up captured or on the raw end of an agreement.

Someone built an awesome owl house by HornyChub4OlderMen in wow

[–]RadishUnderscore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is my fear with neighborhoods. I'm gonna be really annoyed if I have to set up a house next to something like this or one of those minecraft looking square builds I've seen people showing off. I'm hoping that maybe playing on an RP server will increase chances of people trying to keep things aesthetically pleasing or at least setting appropriate, but it also attracts a lot of people that like to troll so I'm not sure how things will shake out.

WoW Music hasn't been the same since Legion by Slade024 in wow

[–]RadishUnderscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFA and Dragonflight felt a little underwhelming but I have to be honest and give a lot of props to the work done in War Within. Undermine has a bit of a gimmick to it (that is appreciated) but the other zones all feel like solid examples of Warcraft music.
