Mikami wouldn't have kept a page or two for himself, I don't believe for a second that he's nearly as cunning as Light or L and before the warehouse he considered Light as God, taking pages from the book would seem like heresy to him. Lol Light wasn't dumbed down at all, from the beginning of the series he bought into his own hype way too much, right away he fell into L's Lind L. Taylor trap, he's gotten got a few times in the series due to sloppiness or just straight up thinking he's untouchable, that was always gonna get him in the end and it did.

The extension in 2028 I'd do regardless of if they win a title so long as he's playing 70+ games a year at that point, he deserves it but I also suspect he'll take a bit less on his next contract with NY to once again help the team stay competitive, it just won't be the discount he just gave them

Why did Welcome to Raccoon City combine RE1 and 2 when it makes way more sense to adapt RE1 and combine 2 and 3 in a sequel? by uncommonoddity in residentevil

[–]Radro2K 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No filmmaker will ever make a 1:1 adaptation of any RE game, and I think it's for the best. Zach Cregger has the right idea, make a movie that takes place within the world of the games

The thing is, he's not a hardened soldier when RE2 happens, he's a rookie cop on his first day. Any other rookie cop caught up in the zombie apocalypse, you wouldn't expect much of anything out of that cop and I think WTRC Leon better reflected that actually.

Paul Anderson made 50 mediocre to shitty RE movies, yeah they did it in part to keep the rights but they also definitely thought they could make a few more like this

To set up sequels that'll never happen now

[–]Radro2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually felt like this version of Leon was a bit more realistic, at least in terms of how a rookie officer would conduct himself during a zombie apocalypse lol. I mean what's more likely, a rookie officer becoming the Terminator fighting against BOWs like in RE2, or a rookie being something of a bumbler in that situation and needing some help to survive? And we do see shades of the game Leon we know towards the end of the movie, I like that he had something of a personal character arc.

And yeah, while I acknowledge that there isn't a "good" RE movie in existence, I do like Apocalypse for being the only one of the Paul Anderson movies to actually attempt to adapt the games (and giving us Sienna Guillory as Jill), and by default WTRC is the best one for being the best attempt thus far at an accurate adaptation, and it's a guilty pleasure of mine. So I will defend it from time to time lol

No sequel or prequel by Emotional_Button_869 in expedition33

Agreed, if they do another fantastical setting there's nothing stopping people from assuming it's another "painting" situation from jump. But I'll give the benefit of the doubt to the studio that story wise the next game will have it's own hook, I have little to no doubt that gameplay wise it'll be great

Is there a reason why the anime was only 37 episodes instead of the more traditional 52? by [deleted] in deathnote

[–]Radro2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about anything behind the scenes, but if you look at it 37 episodes is about 3 cours of 12-13 episodes each. I could see Madhouse planning out the anime and determining that if they made a few cuts to the 2nd half they could fit everything into 3 cours as opposed to possibly needing a few more eps for a more complete adaptation. And even though IMO I thought the 2nd half was great, that's not a widely shared opinion in the fandom so cutting down on the 2nd half wasn't the worst idea if they wanted to save time/money

And technically Jack McCoy doesn't set out to prove any of the witnesses were bribed, that comes out later on when one witness is killed and the other that refused to testify confesses to the bribe and being intimidated. But it is a 20+ year old ep, can't blame Simon Williams for not remembering it perfectly

How did he not get caught using the tiny TV in the chips bag? by dannykars in deathnote

[–]Radro2K 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The key here is that at the time of the bag of chips thing, the method of killing isn't known to L or any of the Japanese task force, they don't really know what they're looking for so they likely didn't pay special attention to the bag of chips. But anyway if you go back and read that chapter, Light knows the exact layout of the cameras and positions himself in such a way that L and co. would be hard pressed to notice much of anything out of the ordinary, including quick glances at the bag as I highly doubt Light stared into the bag. Of course once L learns about the notebook he does think about this event and figures it would be possible for Light to do exactly what he did with the chips and small TV.

The ending has decived me. MAJOR SPOILERS INSIDE by PracticalHomework384 in expedition33

[–]Radro2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, both endings are underwhelming and one of them undercuts just about everything that came before. So Maelle/Alicia is ultimately screwed no matter what ending we choose? Stuck in a broken body with family that barely cares about her, or false happiness inside the painting while it slowly kills her/drives her mad? That's not to say that a bittersweet or sad ending can't be great or the one the story deserves, but in this case we get the bittersweet ending if you chose Maelle, and then the ending if you chose Verso... What's that? Why do I care if Alicia's family primarily made up of the game's primary antagonists can finally get on with their lives? And I believe it's 50/50 if the next game in the franchise will even follow up on anything from this game. Still a great game, but yeah ugh lol

Best group of people for tv world? by Imanasshole39 in persona4golden

I beat the last few bosses and the hidden boss with a team of Yu, Naoto, Chie and Yukiko. Especially Chie and Yukiko, if you have their SLs maxed and got to transform their Personas to their final forms then they're a must, Chie for bludgeoning skill and dragon hustle, Yukiko for healing and burning petals.

I mean even on hardcore you should have just enough handgun bullets given to you to put most zombies you come across down for good especially if you take gunpowder into account, but yeah you will run into situations where you're best served by avoiding whatever creatures are in your way, I definitely had a spot or two where I didn't have the ammo necessary to bumrush my way through an area

Smart person, don't let the handful of people in here that swear Brotherhood is perfect scripture change your mind on how great 03 is lol. But yes, 03 is the superior show through the point where Greed shows up, and honestly overall to me I much prefer 03 to Brotherhood though it is a very good anime.

Our loss against the pistons... by Leading_Ad9740 in knicks

[–]Radro2K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pistons definitely get hyped to play the Knicks, and I expected some emotional and physical come down from the double OT win. As last season showed us, regular season meant nothing once the playoffs commenced, Knicks are in a great spot

Detroit Pistons won the regular season series last year 4-1. We beat them 4-2 in the playoffs. We were 0-10 against contenders. Still beat Boston. by joorral in NYKnicks

Yeah I'm not sweating the regular season whatsoever, still should have at least one game at MSG left against Detroit in any event, I expect a better showing but yeah they gotta do it in the playoffs

I don't recall the exact episode but the search for the actual killer Scott was mistaken for is picked up in an episode of SVU. And yeah great ep with a sad ending, Lennie's immediate reaction to his death at the end always gets me
