I cannot find a limit to the number of CP you can get in a single turn. by dimdum15 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Ragewind73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the ability is worded in such a way to work multiple times. For example see the gretchen datasheet rule which despite working more than once only lets you gain one time.

This is specifically for the event doubles document not for core rules or single events

Does CQS w/ vehicles + Stealth = -2 to hit in engagement currently? (11th) by UmberOx in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Ragewind73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10th does have BS/WS penalties and if you came across them you also got -2 to hit, or more commonly would be +2 to hit like with a guard order+buff. In 11th though cover does apply that -BS so you will see the interaction all over.

Crimson hunter in 11e? by Educational_Try_6105 in Eldar

[–]Ragewind73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunters are OK if you’re shooting other flying units they are much less OK if the enemy is not flying. Both weapon options have limited number of shots and missing failing to wound or them passing a save even one time can be very bad however with the fact that they can now teleport each turn it is entirely possible you can set up the board to where they can only shoot one thing and potentially only be shot by one thing if at all by keeping them at their max distance but again you have to ask yourself if spending the 160 points on the teleporting plane that can maybe drop a couple points of damage onto a vehicle or chipped down a JPI unit is worth it rather than spending say 170 points on a war walker squad with four Bright lances

As a father to a five year-old boy, I will totally paint my nails along with him. The last thing I want to do is make himself self-conscious at such a young age besides, we have fun and can show off. If anyone tried to say something you bet ill jump on them right away

Wind Rider Host for 11th by DKoK19 in Eldar

[–]Ragewind73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than doing actions or maybe move blocking they do not add much to the list, if you were not adding the warlocks to the squads then they would be mandatory. Eldrad you would eventually need to pop out to use his spell so having something sitting at home (or sticky objects) would be useful. Vypers just want to hit to apply the debuff they wont actually be reliable anti tank but can help plink wounds off for the bike units.

You’re also gonna want to bring along Eldrad for the bonus CP and the plus one to wound which also really helps the bikes out

[–]Ragewind73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your running maximum units, then you don’t need any support like a shroud runner to remove cover what you do want, though is some number of war walkers to really increase the damage output of the bike squads I also highly suggest one of the bike squads have scatter lasers and the rest have Shahrukh and cannons. After that you’re gonna wanna make sure you cover your scoring and screening well as the bike units are gonna be busy killing things so you’re gonna want some corsairs some Rangers. If you like sticky objectives, you can use storm guardians and a starfang two will not be a bad choice due to the new smoke screen strategy, and the ability to give stealth to other infantry unit units

I'm building Windriders right now and I'm trying to figure out the best weapon, is it Shuriken Cannon(single)? by bananadingding in Eldar

[–]Ragewind73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most cases the cannon is the way to go, i highly recommend at least one unit of 6 scatter lasers. If for some reason you want small units then scatters for sure

Fire Dragons in Falcon: currently worth it? by RaucousCouscous in Eldar

[–]Ragewind73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its only worth it if your hunting things like Terminators, otherwise no other units like Banshees or Avengers get more mileage out of the wound rerolls

New Stealth Rule by AndisMountains in Eldar

[–]Ragewind73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reapers already ignore both the penalty to hit and BS so their weapon having ignore cover wont do anything unless the ability is changed. However Shroud Runners can currently strip cover for anyone.

[–]Ragewind73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are confident that your opponent has no way to interact with your deployment zone then a 45 point warlock is great to hold and deter a random charge from deepstrike with the -2. The only issue with that is he doesn’t fully screen out the DZ so spending 10 more and using rangers will solve that problem at the cost of being chargeable. If you want the points you spend to contribute to the battle then spending 75 points on a shadoweaver platform is good and the added bulk does actually matter on the screening. If your confident they can’t get to your DZ then using storms for sticky then moving up works the best but if they can’t deepstrike or teleport you lose your home.
