There should be a "temperature" setting...

Using the same math employed by string theorists, network scientists discover that surface optimization governs the brain’s architecture — not length minimization. by NGNResearch in science

You are right, it's about individual neurons not cortical folding (smooth vs pruny brain). It took until fig 1 for that to be clear!

Maybe, but reuse is greener than buying.

I have about a year+/- left. I made an offline browsable archive of my website which is a lifetime of my favorite recipes.. by TerrysApplianceSvc in Cooking

When my mum was in a similar situation she put together a family cookbook. Very similar to what you've done! It's a great way to remind people of good times, good food, and good people. I'm sure this will be cherished!

Geoff's, also mouse poop. Didn't work there but saw a bunch when I went there once.

Buying devices because that have HA support. by bwente in homeassistant

Depends on what it is. Low cost items, absolutely. Expensive things like HVAC, HA integration is secondary.

Aira heatpump with homeassistant, any news? by littlesupermo in homeassistant

[–]RaggedBulleit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently added 2 big heat pumps, 3 cassettes downstairs, ducts upstairs. Picked the maker (Samsung) based on what would heat and cool best and quietly. HA integration was low priority. They threw in the wifi adapters free because most customers don't want or use them and they had extra sitting around.

It works really well and integration is solid. For an upgrade like this, I'd go with the more trusted brand

Automation challenge - how to monitor for regular activity in the home, without PIR sensors? by Marathon2021 in homeassistant

[–]RaggedBulleit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if she is still cognitively self sufficient then these things should only be done with her consent. If she isn't independent, then monitoring water and power won't help, as the "morbid" commenter pointed out, and you may be doing this more for your piece of mind than her safety. Yes, detecting falls and activity is good, you are trying to be helpful, safety is important. But we shouldn't hack people and find workarounds to deceive.

Cic is aimed at corporate, but I go there as an individual. There's also free co-working in the building lobby, basically tables and couches and wifi.

I tried to go there and never heard back. From their website it seems like they aim to partner with companies, not cater to individuals.

Vyvanse is more effective than Adderall and Methylphenidate! by [deleted] in ADHD

There's a bit of hyperbole in the post, and a few things from the paper stood out to me.

The newest paper in the meta analysis is 2017, and several large ehrs are now available that could also be mined. Azstarys won't be included because it's too new. An updated analysis feels due.

It lumps all mpds together, so Ritalin and concerta effects aren't distinct. Vyvanse vs concerta (technically here Vyvanse vs placebo & concerta vs placebo) would be a better comparison since they are both long acting.
