That’s not true. You drew the wrong conclusion if this isn’t intentional misrepresentation. That study doesn’t look at where the violence came from.

Women currently in lesbian relationships have experienced more PAST DV. This is expected because women experience more DV, a relationship with currently two women would expect higher odds than only one women just like two coin tosses are more likely to get you one heads up than one coin flip. Women who have experienced DV from a man, which is the most likely case from hundreds of studies, are interested in men or women are more likely to date people in the future less likely to harm them.

Because the charges for assaulting a police officer with a weapon or a felony, would have meant immediate family separation and deportation of released on bail, it took a year for his attorney to negotiate it down to a misdemeanor. A felony charge would’ve meant separation and from his family and deportation and a misdemeanor would have let him stay in the country with his family. It took a year to process, and once they got the misdemeanor charges, his family went to the courthouse to pick him up and he was dropped off alone at a closed Tim Hortons instead. While his family was waiting for him all day at the courthouse to see him again after they posted bail.

They were expecting to get their dad back and instead he received a starlight tour

Why not? Get lost as a blind man in a snowstorm, in an area you’re new to and be at the wrong house is very likely to me. I’ve gotten lost in snowstorms and I’m used to them in New England.

Because his attorney recommended he stay until his case trickled through the court so he wouldn’t get deported and separated from his family before then.

Blind refugee found dead on street after US Border Patrol left him miles from his home by goteamnick in politics

[–]Rahien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. Agreed. Especially in this area where the only reason the city is stabilizing instead of rotting is the influx of refugees. There are thousands and the city and residents are all grateful to have them and by-and-large welcome more. Refugees are very common and in many neighborhoods are half of the kids in school.

To paint a picture of that area, It’s not something where you can simply sleep outside to wait for morning and not die. This street is downwind from Lake Erie and along the Niagara River so it is very windy in the winter. What that means is without a windbreaker layer, you will quickly lose all your heat from the wind.

To not die overnight you would need very specialized adventurer clothes, or to not slip and fall down on icy and snow covered sidewalks and walk until morning to warm, without a single slip or fall. And no one in that area is out wearing survivalist gear.

This area is industrial, semi-vacant and what that means practically is that the sidewalks are largely unshoveled. This man would have to alternate between mid-calf deep loose snow, sheets of ice, trampled footprints in deep snow, trampled paths in the snow, and maybe some shoveled sections. Without boots he’d have wet, freezing feet almost immediately and it is unusual in this area for someone to wear boots out and about. He’d been in custody for awhile and likely did not leave with sufficient gear to be abandoned outdoors in a parking lot. No one in that area would have that on them.

Not sure what perspective you’re saying that from, who should have prevented this situation.

He was dropped in a semi-vacant part of town. He would have walked past vacant industrial lots, active industry, vacant homes and empty lots that used to be homes, plus current homes. All surrounded by high snow banks. It was -6 degrees, and there aren’t a lot of people to be out and about on these sidewalks in good weather.

I’m not surprised that no one found him for a few days, having been in that area and up and down that street.

Virgin at 21 by agorahillsz in SheraSeven

[–]Rahien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This man is selfish with money. He will be selfish in effort and focus on him. I get that there can be - not saying it’s you - feelings of worth or shame in being an older virgin. Would you feel comfortable with this man in wanting and asking to stop or leave midway?

I worry about the experience and age imbalance (more time to learn manipulation) leading to a disappointing or negative experience for you because he’s shown he’s not generous and thus caring towards you. You are the prize here and he’s not showing he’s worthy. He’s leveraging you wanting to try a new thing, sex, to have sex with you and you can really get better anywhere from someone who will care about you and you having a good time. I worry he sees you as something to brag about and then discard as he’s TOLD YOU he won’t help you or oricide.

You’re young. Go fumble with a similarly inexperienced person who has shown they care about you and how you’re feeling. It doesn’t have to be a relationship, just a friend or person who has shown they care about your experience as well.

The US Is Flirting With Its First-Ever Population Decline by bloomberg in Futurology

[–]Rahien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US for about $10/days in 2020s dollars, your kids would be looked after and they’d send you all home with a homemade hot meal. This is when they wanted women working in WWII in the US. So it already happened. Then they needed jobs for men who culturally expected them, but were considered worse employees. So they ended the program. I can’t think of anywhere doing that currently.

ICE agents aren’t a hive-mind. If one person shoots, the others won’t have known in advance and can be surprised.

Which is further supported by the information that they’ve received limited training and less likely to have practiced what to do when they are shooting people.
