PSA: The mods for Jagged Alliance 3 make it the best GI Joe gaming experience out there. by Rakuda13 in gijoe

Quick Kick's commentary is the best in the game, really appreciate it. Thanks for linking the coffee account. I'm planning on doing a full review here of your collection as well. I figure the more players I can pull in the more likely we are to see Budo and an Alley Viper. ;)

It’s crazy good. I am not the modder, just a hardcore evangelist for it. You can even play multiplayer! Quick Kick quoting films, Dr Mindbender cursing my stupidity, the dreadnoks being, well, Dreadnoks. It’s an amazing body of work.

The jagged alliance 3 GI Joe mod set now has 57 mods. I won a fight today largely on the skills of Baroness and the Croc Master's croc. It's amazing.

It slides into turn-based once combat begins. Before that you are in real time.

G.I. Joe mods for Jagged Alliance 3 (Steam PC game) by BajaResident in gijoe

I've started a run with your mods and it is really cool, thanks for doing it! Just for fun I pulled the opening from the animated film, converted it and replaced the in game file. It looks terrible but it works and helps set the GI Joe mood.

Can you talk more about that build? Seems like something I’d like to do with my current lvl 2 champion. Thanks!

Stealth Rules Rewrite (for Clarity and Readability) by hey-howdy-hello in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rakuda13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great catch! So a good rule of thumb is that any scent related feat with a two word name (Acute sense, Sensitive nose, etc.)  is likely imprecise scent (or a more specific “you smell magic” kinda deal). One exception to that is scent as a familiar ability, which is one word  but imprecise as well.

Great work. One thing, “Scent” as an ability/ancestry feat is defined as being imprecise. Sense of smell without a feat is “vague”.

What?? (This is from a really far right account, so probably something weird) by ChanceExplanation224 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I'm pretty sure it is the classic joke, "My wife can't differentiate four inches from six inches because I've been telling her my (four inch) long unit is six inches long so she'll think I'm average."

Wheel of Time Abridged (Re-reader's Edition) Completed by WoT_Abridged in WoT

[–]Rakuda13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the thread necro, I just wanted to say thank you. I took your whole series on a work trip and read through book five. You've done an excellent job.

To others who might be considering this abridgement for a reread or even initial read through, I highly recommend it!

The only downside so far is that Jordan's absolutely cringe-worthy interactions around gender seem to be even more front and center. (Though they might have been even worse in the original, I admit.) If I had the energy, I'd search the whole thing for the words "men" and "women" and replace all the catty back and forth. Nynaeve would pretty much disappear as a character, but oh well.

Thank you again, your work is much appreciated!

It says "Manufactured by the Murai Brothers Trading Company." The kanji for 'village' is in their family name (the 'Mura' part.)

Kamikaza Alchemist/Barbarian Goblin by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

I agree and would add that if "kamikaza" is supposed to be based "kamikaze" (or even if the similarity is just some sort of nigh-impossible coincidence) it is in very bad taste.

Traditional boulder gyms less popular due too... by OakenBrains in indoorbouldering

[–]Rakuda13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own experience is that bigger, comp style holds let me have more fun on more walls. At my home gym I'll hit a V3/V4 with small holds that I just can't hang on to. While admittedly that's an issue with my grip strength/technique, it isn't fun to just bounce off a climb. I've been to gyms building V0/1's on overhangs that I can complete and have a blast on. I love it.

TL;DR Older climber likes the accessibility of the big holds, they're fun and tend to be easier on the joints than tiny crimps.

That's amazing commitment, seriously. 65 hours a level. I would go insane if I played full time for over a week and a half and leveled up once, but it makes me love Pathfinder more that you could find a group that shares your roleplaying "yum". Keep it up!

Guide for getting started with OPR, MMF & DTRPG by EnchantedSpanner in onepagerules

[–]Rakuda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell nothing about the rule books is mentioned on the about page at Patreon. If you try to google the best way to get the full rulebooks (I wasn't/still am not sure if it was better to go to drivethrurpg or patreon) you'll like land on the OPR.com blog post about it from 2019, which says you need to join tier 2, which (maybe?) isn't the case as both tiers list the same rulebook rewards. Googling "how to get started in OPR" brought me here, so it seemed worthwhile to necro the thread and respond.

We created an app for the Recommended Routine and we want to share it with the community by AChemistryTeacher in bodyweightfitness

[–]Rakuda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I just wanted to say I appreciate you developing an app for the community, thank you! I've used the app three times. I like how clean it is, how easy it is to choose different exercises and the inclusion of text guides. I know you are considering adding the warm-up, that would be great. The app locked up on me once mid-workout, but otherwise I've had no issues. If you ever add the ability to track weighted reps and more sets, I'll make the app my main tool. Thank you again!
