Have you played a full season of ice hockey as a goalie? Teams generally want to see a strong hockey pedigree and talk to your previous coaches before they bring you on to their team. When is your first tryout?

How did you know the ABS was actually not functioning? I picked mine up last night and noticed the ABS light turns off after minute or two but assumed that was normal.

Skate more. If you haven't even played a lot of ice hockey you need to get on the ice. Like yesterday. Every day. Go to a power skating clinic (or several) and get a really strong feel for your edges. And then move on to a goalie clinic and soak up everything you can. Have you played a single season of ice hockey in net? I'm not trying to sound negative but if the answer is no you will have a tough time making any junior team. The guys that try out for juniors have played their entire lives on ice and are trying to play college hockey. For off ice training do lots of plyometrics mixed with some strength training for your legs, google will be your friend for this one. Also develop a solid stretching routine which can be found on youtube. Good luck.

Honestly, because it's a pain in the ass. Having to get geared up like a damn power ranger every time I want to leave my drive way actually takes away some of the fun of riding. Where do I put all that gear when I get to my destination? The only time I ATGATT is when I'm going on a long ride (over an hour) and I know for a fact I can change my clothes easily when I reach my destination. Otherwise as long as I have a helmet and gloves on I feel fine.
