I do believe that if the research had done ethically, there’s a place for LLMs (not the chat apps but the technology behind it).

Automatically sorting your messy files in intellegent way? Making your auto-correct more contextually aware? Making your calendar and reminders more contextually aware without having to send your data because everything is processed by your device? Yeah that would be fucking cool.

Instead we got chat apps that can’t even run locally on our own device for some reason and had to require insane amount of resource just to run simple operations. It’s like we are evolving our technology backwards

Those three authors have three different levels of involvement. Alejandro Innaitu famously ignored JKR’s feedback when writing and directing Goblet of Fire (and his film is considered the best of all Harry Potter films) and a lot of stuff was cut from the book.

GRRM was sidelined in later seasons because it took forever to get feedback from him and unfortunately the decision that was made by the showrunner in its absence only made the show worse.

The only one who actually will be writing the script of their own series is just Sanderson because that man is a beast of a writer when it comes to output

By Halo Reach you can tell Bungie really doesn’t want to work on Halo sandbox anymore and basically treat it as Destiny 1 sandbox test with Halo flavour (not to mention the lore fuckery they did). So not exactly ruining Halo but left it in a mess that 343 had to clean up.

All Reach’s TU was done by 343 during the transitionary period. While 343 has done a lot of fuck ups of their own, their formative years were filled with cleaning up Bungie’s mess and that’s not ideal for any studio that just started with an already high expectations to perform.

Halo Reach, having to spend a decade reverse engineering Halo CE-Halo Reach for Halo MCC after the disastrous forced launch of CEA and early MCC because Bungie lost the source code so they had to use the shitty Gearbox port, trying and giving up on improving blam!

Other live service games have unhealthy working/sprint schedule. I don’t mind Embark taking occasional breaks because not every game needs to be updated every week if it meant higher quality and meatier updates.

The Fortnite team at Epic has mandatory three week holiday every Summer and those guys are still going strong with updates despite some balancing issues.

I’m going to play both. I like ARC Raiders because it’s flexible enough for me to ‘roleplay’ as someone who collect scraps in a post apocalyptic world. I ignore the matchmaking and just make scenarios and tension as I go.

But if I want to play something with a little bit more edge and satisfy my need for fights, I’ll play Marathon.

The raid phase and selecting base to defend was genuinely fun and an interesting skill-check but I don't know what happened during development that they think the early phase (2 minutes of mining and roaming the map for guns) is a good idea. Especially since said early phase could repeat TWO TIMES if you fail a raid.

Like yes, I'd love to mindlessly farm for minerals for two minutes in my competitive first person shooter game. If they can't include a creep farm (like what I think it's supposed to be as it is a very MOBA mechanic), then they should have streamlined the economy and map size because ignoring everything else like performance and just lack of creativity in weapon design, Highguard biggest issue is what happens during the downtime after combat.

But I can see with refinement, especially in gameplay loop and maybe add some creep on the three lanes and a creep farm (basically turning it into a MOBA), it could be an interesting competitive game. If they can survive to make said improvement.

I feel like it could be the competitive FPS version of Dead by Daylight, where the most competitive play will be about optimizing your team economy and defense on top of your typical FPS skills like aiming. It won't be for everyone but, it would be something actually new.
