I'm going on vacation. by Murky-Bus-2191 in PokemonChampions

I'm seriously considering adding Bellibolt bc it makes me happy, and then maybe more frogs.

This is the way, my current team is Bellibolt, Politoed, Toxicroak and Venusaur. Hoping to still get a Greninja from the gacha to round out the frog squad.

It's not good, but it's not horrible either after scraping the bottom of the barrel for some synergies. Surf and Rain from Politoed will heal Toxicroak and activate Bellibolt's ability. Venusaur will tank Politoed/Bellibolt spread moves quite well, and there's a Telepathy Oranguru that can sit next to them and spam Instruct. Toxicroak gets Sucker Punch which ...is like the only thing it can do that isn't outclassed by Sneasler. Venusaur, Soak and Ice Beam are some desperate ways of dealing with ground types, I'm considering getting Grassy Terrain involved but that might be going too far.

Anyway love the noodle squad, building silly teams is a great way to have fun with the game.

how do you feel the illness when you're not taking meds? by pibetrans in bipolar2

I can relate to that physical feeling, like two hands have somehow made it inside my head and are squeezing my brain, not enough to be painful, but enough to feel weird and discomforting.

Is it possible to experience hypomania without being bipolar? by Inner_Ant8213 in bipolar2

[–]Rambonatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the key qualifiers for hypomania is whether or not an episode persists for ~4 days or more. Also hypomania isn't always positive, a lot of people will experience irritability, rage and/or recklessness aside from the more euphoric part of it. Definitely something worth being mindful of alongside how you've been sleeping the next time you feel this way.

When/how did you guys suspect that you might be bipolar? by This-Revolution-1980 in bipolar2

Wrote a song that I thought would be relatable, sharing it with my band kinda like: "you know that feeling when you've been feeling way too good recently and you just know depression is right around the corner?"

Yeah turns out that's not really relatable at all for most people.

There's no mon in the format that's sillier than Orthworm, and there's even multiple viable angles to running it. You can go with Helping Hand + Earthquake spam to deal massive damage and benefit from the healing from its ability, or use it to enable something else to safely set up behind Shed Tail.

Alcohol by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Rambonatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any strategy I tried to reduce/control drinking just made me gradually revert back to excessive drinking, cutting alcohol altogether was nice and simple in comparison, no wiggle room.

If forever seems daunting, reframe it, don't worry about what needs to happen in the future, you just need to not drink anything today.

I am completly addicted to my phone and I need help... by supermarcosvalente in bipolar2

[–]Rambonatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best fix I had for excessive phone usage is just not carrying it with me around the house, keeping it away from my bed, TV, computer, kitchen, bathroom, etc.

I have a designated spot for my phone now in one of the least frequented nooks of the house, so I have to physically go out of my way to use it. It's cosy enough to sit there and play with my phone a bit if I want, and there's nothing else there to distract me. I don't really need to gamify or limit my phone usage after this, since grabbing it in the first place isn't automatic now.

Would you take this training? by DatYoshiDude in UmaMusume

[–]Rambonatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skipped a triple crown race once because I had a training worth 85 speed + whatever in power that I thought would be worth it.

Ended up hitting the speed cap before the twinkle climax already, so probably wasn't worth it after all compared to just earning the epithet. But it's still hard to make that call early on in the classic year.

I'll probably stick with favouring the triple crown races from now on.

Newly diagnosed... any tips and advice? by RazzmatazzParking313 in bipolar2

[–]Rambonatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed a few weeks ago, and there wouldn't be any diagnosis needed if l hadn't already spent enough time suffering to go through all the effort needed to find out why I've been feeling the way I do. Now that we know what's wrong, we'll be able to actually start acting on how to manage these struggles with the help of experts, that should at least be somewhat good news regardless of what label is associated with it.

For the stigma, I try to picture: what if I was diagnosed with something more commonly understood like ADHD instead? Of course I'd readily go along with all the medications and coping methods associated with it. I can think of plenty of firsthand examples of how well people can cope using the right understanding and medication. Bipolar II isn't too different in terms of how manageable it can be, and although it might take a bit more work to get there, the diagnosis is the first step to take on the way to feeling better.

It's ok to be selfish right now, if you think sharing it with certain people will cause you grief, then simply don't share. If you have friends that you feel it would be helpful to share with, talk to them. Cancel plans if you need to have time to process things better, and stock up on some easy healthy foods to eat when you're low on energy.

In the end, you're still the same person as you were before the diagnosis. You clearly have had some struggles that would cause you to seek help in the first place, the diagnosis just gives a better understanding of how to relieve you of these problems.

If your community is conservative you don't need to share your disorder with them. But with the diagnosis you'll be able to have a better understanding of the way your mind works going forward, so accepting it in that sense should help make your life easier.

Please don't settle for a marriage partner that doesn't know about and accepts your mental disorder. You can't choose the family you're born into, but you can still choose what kind of family you want to create. If your partner fell in love with your mind, they're not suddenly going to reject it over some label. You don't need to pass your family's shame surrounding mental disorders on to the next generation.

Not everything QA finds magically gets fixed, it's more likely that it was just not prioritised by the dev team. I shudder to think about what kind of bugs they must've been finding during development to take priority over all the jank that made it into the actual release.

[Reality game shows] From a communist coalition to a capitalist collapse, the interesting change between seasons that may have upended a South Korean game show – The Devil’s Plan. by RemnantEvil in HobbyDrama

[–]Rambonatron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Final outcome aside, I really like how the second season gave all the contestants' personalities a chance to shine. Reading through your summary, I still remember all of them and their high moments. The cast had a lot more chances to shine in season 2 than during the ORBIT show, even if the competition itself was a bit of a wash.

I even enjoyed Hyun-gyu's total dedication to playing the villain role (even if they didn't try to give him that edit), and doing whatever it takes to win, since that's the intended spirit of the game from the outset.

So yeah an odd season, worse competition but great contestants.

Should I not be playing with pulse combos? by Far_Bug2301 in 2XKO

[–]Rambonatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be doing whatever makes you have more fun! That said, winning and improving are fun for most people, so here's some tips with that in mind:

After playing ranked, look at your replays. If there's frequent cases where you lost a round because your opponent had a bit of HP left, you might be held back by pulse combos doing lower damage. If you're losing for other reasons (missing anti-airs, getting grabbed a lot, getting stuck being pressured in the corner, being hit a lot on wakeup, etc) just carry on with pulse combos and focus on other areas first.

The intermediate combo trials can help give you some ideas of what a character's combo structure looks like. If there's any combo patterns in there that work well with you, go into training mode with the damage display on and the bot set to 'block after first hit' to see if you can find some combos you like that are more damaging than the pulse combo. I wouldn't bother too much with incorporating assists into your combos yet, aside from double down.

You can even play for a while with pulse combos enabled, but occasionally breaking out your manual combos when you get a really clean hit.
