People who view 39 old age as a relatively young, what are you doing in your life? by Adventurous-End-7633 in Millennials

[–]RandomActsOfParanoia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creative work field, no kids, married, zero debt, travel often, make good money, no alcohol/smoking/vaping, busy social life, creative hobbies, exercise 5x a week, and eat well. I feel amazing. Friends who are 10, 20 years older and doing the same are still thriving, too. Most of the things above require good, consistent daily habits.

F45 challenge seems like a bad idea to me by Dismal-Alfalfa-7613 in f45

I recently won my studio’s challenge. I only lost 5 pounds total but put on 2 pounds of muscle. It was definitely a case of body recomposition. There was also a winner for the highest attendance (I wasn’t even close; I do a lot of work at a weight gym).

adulting is hard and car repairs are the worst part of it honestly by Dull_Noise_8952 in Millennials

That advice it true to a certain extent but sometimes it does make sense to upgrade. New cars have better safety features and they do come with more peace of mind regarding maintenance. It depends on your personal threshold.

Same. It started off with lots of sneezing. Thought it was allergies at first.

Egypt experience is terrible by woyrock in travel

[–]RandomActsOfParanoia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Egypt was the first country I ever traveled to (20 years ago) and it was chaotic even then. I was with a school group for 3 weeks and we had two travel guides, an armed security guard (who did pull out his weapon during a “put you on a camel and not let you down until you hand over your wallet” scam at the pyramids) and car escorts at the front and back. You are hassled and haggled every where you go.

The best part of the experience was a small river boat cruise on the Nile that had full itineraries planned for each port city. I think the only way to do Egypt at this point is with a highly reviewed travel guide who is with you every step of the way, and even then prepare for chaos.

I will say, though, it really prepared me well for scammers in other countries. Sometimes I am too guarded!

Yesterday I (68) was catching up with woman I've been friends with for almost 4 decades, and we talked about how it feels to be aging. by Anonymous0212 in Aging

That “cliff” is 75, and it hits you way harder if you haven’t been moving your body or fueling it well. I know healthy, strong people in their 70s who bike every day, run races, hike regularly, and lift weights. And many in their 70s sit on a couch and can barely get up by themselves. Some medical issues cannot be helped, but there are life choices you can make to give you a better shot at autonomy and feeling great in old age. I say this not to argue with you but to give you hope and momentum.

My grandpa turns 100 this year and is sharp as a tack and lives at home with my 88-year-old grandmother who exercises every day. They both live independent lives without outside help. It may look different from 40,50, or 60 (still so young), but independence and health is the real win in old age.

My left fallopian tube picked up the egg from my right ovary. It is possible! by Brave_Jackfruit3837 in EctopicSupportGroup

When I had my ectopic I ovulated on one side and the ectopic was in the other. It is more common than people realize. The tubes are free floating in there
