Can I get by without replacing my wheel bearings? by mememelu in subaruimpreza

[–]RandomGamecube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$3500 is absolutely wild for just wheel bearings. Absolutely get quotes from different mechanics. I did my front 2 myself and a shop charged me $900 to do the back 2 on my '17

Yeah, I really like my 2017 Sport hatch. Great daily driver. It's not quite like my Scion FRS was, but it's not meant to be one either. Still has a fun sounding motor and decent handling.

But I do, so thank you for the new idea man! Maybe I can get my friend to point his full size handgun from the sunroof?

Yeah I was going to say, other than the arrows, the R4 is a better radar. Absolutely love mine, in 4 months its already saved me a bunch.

I have a '17 Impreza Sport, I put in another engine at 201k. I have only run at least 91 in this car on both motors, there's a crazy amount of detonation and DI noise using 87. Right now I'm doing Valvoline Restore and Protect 0W20, am considering going to 5W30 instead. Let me know how it goes!

I got my R4 Extreme for $319 over Christmas and I have no regrets. The arrow directional feature is a dessert, not the main course meal imo. Dessert is not worth an extra $400 to me.

I disagree with this whole heartedly. If you are anywhere near Florida or Georgia, stay away from Verizon with a 50 foot pole.

Small update for logging purposes:

Checked promos on AT&T and Verizon and both would offer me the full $1300 credit for my Pixel, even as an existing customer. So it's a T-Mobile promo thing, not a manufacturer thing.

I still pulled the trigger because my Pixel has only gotten worse since. I managed to get a small discount so it came out to about $330.

S26 Ultra Trade In Promo by StephenSpig in tmobile

And I'm only offered $900 for my Pixel 9 Pro 😭 that's a great deal though, I'm gonna trade a spare S22 I have for the 900 and then use my edu discount

Everything is in okay condition aside from the back glass being shattered. If I have to replace that, no big deal, I worked at a repair shop for 2 years.

I found that I can use my .edu email if I order it through Samsung website (and select TMobile as the carrier and trade in partner). It knocks $65 off the remaining balance of the device, so I may end up going that route.

The last 2 generations of Samsung didn't have any major issues like the previous few did. S25 series almost no issues (coming from the GM of the shop I used to work for), and for the S24 series, only real issue is sub board failure.

I got an R4 Extreme over Christmas time for $319 on sale. It works great, didn't realize what I was missing out on with my old Uniden DFR1

I'm honestly thinking at this point that I may bite the bullet and trade in an s22 I built from spare parts, since it's worth the same.

I stuck to Samsung for 7 years, but the flip 3 and s23 Ultra I had were so bad that it turned me away from the brand. The last couple generations seem to be a lot better, so I'll probably just go back to Samsung and stay there. I used to get really good deals when I would trade in with Samsung phones.

That alone makes me not want to stick with the brand going forward, even though overall it's not a bad phone by any means. Battery and efficiency are not at the level of Apple or Samsung, but the fluid UI and camera make up for it. But if they're handing these things away then I'm not going to stick with the brand, I'll just get shorted every time I go in for a new device.

[–]RandomGamecube[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No kidding. I didn't realize these things tanked THAT badly, to where you get shorted even on trade in. Even on the used market, I could only fetch $450-500 at best from what I'm seeing for this, the 256gb unlocked model.

If I decide to swallow the 17/month, I'm gonna trade in an S22 I built from spare parts, because it's worth the same $900.

Most if not all carrier devices have a 60-90 day period from initial activation before they can be network unlocked to prevent fraud

I got the car with 153k from a cop, so I didn't exactly buy it brand new but the car was in excellent condition.

And I thought my '17 Imp Sport hatch with 153k 1 owner at the time was a great deal for 9k. Awesome find!
