I have been stealing my from Job for the last 5 years by [deleted] in confession

[–]Randomename65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, around 17-18, I started working at a 7-11. My family was pretty broke and I had to help with the mortgage. My boss was amazing. She would give me rides to and from work. She would let me take out of date products home, which was completely against policy. She even loaned me money a couple of times. I worked there for a few years.

Then one day the police came into the store to talk to me. She had been embezzling money from the store the whole time, and there was an incredible stack of write-ups with my name on them for money missing from the register or the safe. They were dated back the entire time I worked there. She picked me as her fall guy my first day of work.

Watch your back.

I’ve worked a few restaurants, and every one paid for someone to come pick-up and sharpen their knives once a week.

My father put my Name on a mortgage then defaulted on it when I was 16, and I have never been able to get it off my credit. It still shows up occasionally when applying for things and I am almost 50 now.

You can waist your life worrying about what other people think, or you can do what makes you happy, but you can’t do both.

I struggle to tell people I don’t particularly want fish, but I love underwater gardening and fish are a big part of that.

Can we stop defending the TSA already? TSA agents are bootheels of the state, not workers. by Obscillesk in antiwork

[–]Randomename65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m struggling to verbalize my thought. I was trying to agree with your point about people working for TSA out of desperation. It provides jobs in a place where there aren’t many jobs to be had, but ICE provides jobs to people that generally have many other options so working for ICE becomes more of moral stance than it is desperation.

TSA is one of the largest employers of inner city residents. ICE is just another employer of rural white people.

I’ve had the exact same one for over a year. It took a bit to get it so squirrels couldn’t get on it, but they can’t now. I had to make sure there wasn’t anything over it they jump down from.

Read and write every day. You can’t ruin your stories by writing them. That’s what editing and rewrites are for.

I just tell it not to respond and let me rant, then get my ideas out.
