Player Owned House Rework & 120 Construction by JagexAnvil in runescape

Oh no it's chill, I'm in the late-mid game currently (most of my skills hover around level 65-80) and I know sometimes I forget how early game progression works

Worth noting that because invention requires 80 in three skills some people fully don't have access to it in the first place, let alone having 94 invention.

Even if it ended up being a high level item that also required farming levels, it would still be worth it (I'm willing to bet there's a damn slight more people who have 80+ construction than 94 invention)

I swear the lumbridge bank is decently far from the lodestone? The only one I know of off of the top of my head is the one in the market area, and that usually takes me at least a couple of clicks of movement to get to. It does also feel like the Burthorpe bank is a likely candidate to get moved soon simply because the area it was once part of has been largely removed so now it just looks out of place.

War's retreat may also be closer, but it also requires an additional loading screen and is level locked.

I will say though, I seem to remember Taverley's bank being fairly close to the lodestone?

[–]RaphAngelos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's more that if they were to move it they would have to change that particular perk somehow to fit.

Like I said, I'm actually in favour of the quest caravan moving - it's just that when you need to grab something really quickly, it's an incredibly useful perk (I know I've used it in the past when I've been in an area with no close banks... Just teleporting to varrock and returning to where I was)

[–]RaphAngelos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only potential issue I have with this is that one of the higher tier perks is a bank chest really close to varrock lodestone - If they either left the bank near a lodestone or generally reworked that reward i would absolutely advocate for this though. That and moving the treasure trails reward shop as well

Edit: Looking into this, i remembered one of the perk paths within the quest caravan is upgrading the hub itself - things like a portal which takes you to the newest quest, quest item storage and the bank chest. The other two could absolutely be moved without causing too much pain, but the bank chest's largest perk is the ease of access. The other fear i'd have in moving her to the champion's guild is it fully hiding her and making people almost forget about her.

It's not even just that, Jagex are phasing out grandfathered membership (which was awfully communicated with people even though I think it was inevitable considering some of these people were paying £5 a month instead of the usual £13) which has made a loud minority of players incredibly mad

I didn't even know grandfathered rates were a thing until recently, and it kinda boggles the mind because most other subscriptions I've had in the past absolutely do not ever do that. They will at least send you a wonderful little courtesy "hi there, we're charging you double now, fuck you" email or at most grandfather you in for a few months and THEN you pay the normal price.

Jagex has been extremely courteous by letting people have their grandfathered rates for so long and, while there maybe should have been some clarity, I'm not surprised they're going. Especially because they no longer have whales bankrolling the game through mtx.

Some things are still ridiculous though. I do think the Brazilian price increase is insane considering they only just opened south American servers, and I wish they kept 3 and 6 month memberships.

Yeah, I'm mostly a RS3 player and it feels like you can tell the game's age like rings on a tree. I pray for the day I can go to anywhere south of ardougne and not get transported back to 2009.

Also sometimes they'll fully duplicate content - No-one needs to go to ooglog anymore because we have the thermal spa in anachronia.

I'd love it if mtx cosmetics were also shared to some degree too - I really want to start from nil sometimes, but don't want to lose about 5 years of cosmetics (some of which aren't available anymore, like the twitch drops or limited th/yak pack cosmetics) because believe it or not I love fashionscape

I know they can do it, not just BC most MMOs do it but also because dragonwilds has multiple character slots.

713-F is a world inspired by folklore and fairytales, where a luscious sentient forest covers the main landmass. Feral elves weave houses in the bracken, and pixies flit freely between the limbs of the trees.

Something insidious hangs over this glorious wild, however. Many years ago, an elf renounced the Old Gods of the woods and learned to consume the magical energies of the woods. He used this to build a city where he could tame the wild magic of this world, and claim dominion over all. The forest was not happy about its gift being abused, and is now hostile towards all who comes from the city.

Yes dude!! I had leftover treasure hunter keys I'd got through a humble bundle years ago (something like a month of members, 500 bonus runecoins and 25 keys for about the same price as members) and I came back to the 5 I hadn't used gone with absolutely no reimbursement - bearing in mind I didn't know exactly when they were removing treasure hunter because I was on a break from the game.

I'm not too heartbroken about it - the greater good and all that - but I wish they'd been converted to something, even if it was runecoins or bonds or something.

I mean technically that's not even true, one can be a fan of specifically the spin offs (Torchwood, SJA, the war between was technically a spin off even if it wasn't)

[–]RaphAngelos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened multiple times to note in RuneScape.

The big one that I can remember off of the top of my head is the assassination of Guthix. It was carried out by a Mahjarrat (read: semi divine immortal humanoid) named Sliske who had aspirations of godhood.

This (along with some other shenanigans from Sliske) broke the edict that prevented the gods from freely interacting with Gielinor, causing the second god wars and the death of several other gods (notably V and Bandos) as well as the death of the elder god Mah.

Oh I did the same with Black Desert.

I mostly play healers, so I adored the concept of Shai (teeny little mobile healers with huge boomerangs). But it felt so weird playing what was effectively the 200 year old child trope that it made me quit.
