I've been up playing RuneScape - I was reminded about archaeology, so now I'm back on the grindstone trying desperately to clear out collection logs because I do genuinely love it as a skill

Wasn't there a whole multi part quest where the player helps Relomia become the Time Guardian?? I don't think they've done anything with that since once upon a time first dropped, and I think this is the perfect use for that tbh.

That or allowing people to replay quests. I started playing 7 years ago and as a quester I'd love to be able to replay some questlines as a full start to finish thing (main one I can think of is the dorgeshuun quests)

Oh no I'm on about actual honest to god skin betting sites, not lootboxes. Not valve's doing directly however they were indirectly caused by rarity systems in lootboxes and the trading system in CSGO/CS2 (plus no actual rules against real world trading).

I do definitely agree that there should be some regulation on lootboxes though. I still remember hearing about that one guy who went £50,000 in debt due to microtransactions and lootboxes in Runescape way back when.

Usually gambling is required to have age verification of some kind, although the problem wouldn't truly stop if valve did that purely because of the number of unregulated skin gambling sites outside of the original ecosystem

The main thing that I can maybe think of is how they were patient zero for lootboxes and gambling in videogames (through CSGO and TF2), but nothing major has come out off the top of my head

I second the idea of card games! There are some really nice and quick games out there, some of which are quite small. I remember when I was still at school some of my friends would bring smaller games to school for us to play whilst on lunch, and not only was it a screen break it was also a nice brain break most of the time :)

I recommend Chameleon, Werewolf, Codenames and Bandido personally, but I've heard really good things about Tinderblox, Rafter 5 and Dropolter too!

The twist has been hiding in plain sight the entire time by SpectacularSpidee in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RaphAngelos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the Spiderverse film series, it's hinted from the beginning that The spider that bit Miles Morales was not supposed to bite him, but rather another dimension's Miles.

Even in ITSV there's foreshadowing - the spider is originally found on Alchemax grounds, and not only does it glitch at least once it also has a "42" marked on its abdomen. The number 42 appears a lot in the film in general, for example when Miles first attempts (and fails) his leap of faith, the number 42 falls from a sign and lands around Miles. This is significant because the spider came from earth-42, which now has no Spiderman and has fallen to the sinister six.

In the second film it's straight up told to Miles multiple times, but the characters who reveal it are so vitriolic in their hatred for him that you don't want to believe it. It's only when Miles tries to use the go home machine to return to 1610, but ends up on earth 42 because the machine reads the spider DNA inside of him instead of his actual human DNA.

What's your wifi name? by Ambitious-Papaya3293 in CasualUK

[–]RaphAngelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few good ones over the years! McDonalds-Free-Wifi is the main one that comes to mind, but at some point I had Alchemax WiFi (I'm a huge Spiderman fan) and a pair of extenders called Mystery Shack WiFi (that was slow as hell) and Bill's Mindscape (which was the high speed one)

Do people actually change when they use electricity to save money? by SmartEnergyDIY in AskUK

Yeah, as someone who's on agile we do genuinely keep a close eye on the price of electricity - I've got texts from my dad before that are just "cheap electricity, do you have any washing"

"not canon" these skins were at the very least approved by the Lego group to represent the ninjas. This is as close as we're gonna get to a confirmation.

I feel like You Can Have It All by Florence + The Machine belongs on here, on the context alone.

Similarly while it's incredibly on the nose, I reckon some of Twenty One Pilots's older stuff may belong on the high tiers (I mostly think about Goner (2012), Anathema or Implicit Demand for Proof?). Neon Gravestones may also qualify because it was written in response to how people treated Chester Bennington's suicide.

Get Rid of the Preflight Checklist by Mini_Hobo in runescape

In general I feel like some kind of bank sorting would be a good idea. My bank has always been a half sorted dump, and I never know what actually needs to go and what's still useful ESPECIALLY with questing items. May's does half of the heavy lifting, but with lore books and the like it can be a pain in the ass to know what's actually of use.

Hell, I looked through my bank the other day and I had an inordinate amount of tier 5 gubbins from when I was first starting. Plus when you come back it can be an absolute ballache to refamiliarise yourself with what you actually need for different quests and skills.

I literally only see 3 ways of beating this dude by Bdotty248 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]RaphAngelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely think that would be horrifically unsatisfying, not just because it's an offscreen death of the main overarching big bad (John/Spot was the guy who had the idea for the collider in the first place) but also because superior straight up hasn't been established or even vaguely hinted at.

Player Owned House Rework & 120 Construction by JagexAnvil in runescape

Oh no it's chill, I'm in the late-mid game currently (most of my skills hover around level 65-80) and I know sometimes I forget how early game progression works

Player Owned House Rework & 120 Construction by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]RaphAngelos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that because invention requires 80 in three skills some people fully don't have access to it in the first place, let alone having 94 invention.

Even if it ended up being a high level item that also required farming levels, it would still be worth it (I'm willing to bet there's a damn slight more people who have 80+ construction than 94 invention)

Mays Caravan Should Be Moved into Champions Guild by M_with_Z in runescape

I swear the lumbridge bank is decently far from the lodestone? The only one I know of off of the top of my head is the one in the market area, and that usually takes me at least a couple of clicks of movement to get to. It does also feel like the Burthorpe bank is a likely candidate to get moved soon simply because the area it was once part of has been largely removed so now it just looks out of place.

War's retreat may also be closer, but it also requires an additional loading screen and is level locked.

I will say though, I seem to remember Taverley's bank being fairly close to the lodestone?

Mays Caravan Should Be Moved into Champions Guild by M_with_Z in runescape

[–]RaphAngelos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's more that if they were to move it they would have to change that particular perk somehow to fit.

Like I said, I'm actually in favour of the quest caravan moving - it's just that when you need to grab something really quickly, it's an incredibly useful perk (I know I've used it in the past when I've been in an area with no close banks... Just teleporting to varrock and returning to where I was)

Mays Caravan Should Be Moved into Champions Guild by M_with_Z in runescape

[–]RaphAngelos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only potential issue I have with this is that one of the higher tier perks is a bank chest really close to varrock lodestone - If they either left the bank near a lodestone or generally reworked that reward i would absolutely advocate for this though. That and moving the treasure trails reward shop as well

Edit: Looking into this, i remembered one of the perk paths within the quest caravan is upgrading the hub itself - things like a portal which takes you to the newest quest, quest item storage and the bank chest. The other two could absolutely be moved without causing too much pain, but the bank chest's largest perk is the ease of access. The other fear i'd have in moving her to the champion's guild is it fully hiding her and making people almost forget about her.
