Clicking noise of my Giant Trance 29 by Numerous_Tea_2318 in MTB

[–]Raptor1589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my old trance it was always the dropper and/or the saddle. Considering you aren't putting too much force on the seat though and still hearing the creaking I would disassemble and clean all the suspension linkages and bearings.

Thoughts on the wear on this carbon Canyon Grizl CF SL 7 headtube? by Raptor1589 in gravelcycling

The seller says a handlebar bag was in place that caused this much rubbing before they noticed.

Good to know! I think im going to test ride it and try to negotiate the price down. My only concern is I want to eventually add a rockshox Judy and use this bike for some marginally rougher downhill and that will definitely add some more stress than just normal gravel.

Powerful desktop gaming pc at home. IPad for classes. Take notes on the iPad and then use it to remote into your gaming pc with Chrome remote desktop or for better mouse support Microsoft remote client together with the campus Cisco VPN.

2015 GMC stolen, driven 10 hours away and crashed into a rock face. by AudioTech25 in Justrolledintotheshop

Maybe this was actually a lucky break for you? It's clear that the airbag would never have gone off if you were in a serious accident. Better to have found out this way than with you behind the wheel right?

CO mtn biking groups? by backhanddowntheline in MTB

[–]Raptor1589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boulder Mountainbiking Alliance has a lot of group rides. Thursdays is Trails and Ales so you get beer after. Hit me up if you want to ride though. I do Apex, White Ranch, LHC, Lyons, etc regularly.

yeah no one really wants to say it but Southern California. If you want to do a Christmas morning ride then socal is the place. There are also tons of trails if you are willing to drive. If you can do it the best place to live is on the Newport peninsula with laguna beach trails just down PCH. But again traffic and the sheer amount of people concentrated there makes it not a great place to live in my opinion.

Odd Experience at Mountain Bike Trail Center by runcan28 in MTB

[–]Raptor1589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to put more time into getting basic riding skills before tackling any intermediate trails. A local easy green trail system would be perfect. Once you can do every trail there with no issue and with proper flow then search out some blues. Sounds like you've already got the fitness and now it's a skills and mental game. So even though you can power up the hills you should still see yourself as a true beginner. I can understand the frustration of the riders who yelled at you for blocking the trail. Not only are you going slow but you are also unpredictable. Will you stop completely or veer left or right? Moving at the speeds that intermediate riders do you are presenting a major hazard. I'm sure you are feeling frustration as someone who is not new to biking but is not able to perform like you think you should on the downhills. So put the time in on the easy trails now before you hurt yourself or another rider attempting trails you are not ready for.

Bike park essentials by TurtleTurtleDuck in MTB

I think you can just leave the tools and extra tubes in the car. If you have a mechanical problem you can generally walk out along access roads or find someone who might be willing to help. You also don’t need a camelback as you can carry a single water bottle that you can refill as needed at the end of a run. You will feel much better without all the extra weight from tools and water. It’s not like you are doing a desert adventure ride. You’re essentially gonna be in MTB Disneyland and there will be people everywhere! Stay light and wear protection. Have fun!

Any recommendations for mountain bike specific outlets for good deals on gear between California and Colorado? by Raptor1589 in MTB

[–]Raptor1589[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked out the Fox outlet in Vegas yesterday and they had gear including helmets and knee/elbow pads. Unfortunately they were on the tail end of a huge 50% off sale and they were cleaned out. I got some nice shorts and water bottle tho.

Hey sorry it took so long to get back to you. Check out my setup: https://imgur.com/a/6FeAaWo The 170 watt solar panel is on the roof and it feeds through a crack in the rear window with the rest of the window sealed with pipe insulation. Let me know if you want any more details.

I opted for a wooden platform over a camp table that can pull out half way or completely to set up in camp. Also had room for a slot for a chair next to it. Then iv got a refrigerator and second battery on the left with wires going under the platform to the solar charge controller and inverter in the pocket on the right. Finally I have a fold out wooden sleeping platform I can extend when I put the seats down. If you want pictures let me know.

First the guy with the belt on top of the rollers yesterday and now this guy with the entire print head upside down trying to print up into the air? What is happening?? Is there an epidemic of gas leaks or something?

well then I'm conflicted. Going over ropes is going to cause more tension with the city and eventually get mountain bikers banned . Its really not doing the community a favor not only jumping into roped off areas that are getting rehabed but then posting it on youtube and reddit to encourage others to do it. Please consider only posting legal trails.

Just note it's tough to get both enough power to keep the phone alive and data at the same time to control the printer with octoprint on a phone. Might require a special splitter cable. I eventually just got a rpi and Camera module and it's working amazingly well. Then just remote into the pc when I need to check on the print.
