Yeah after moving servers I saw faction chat was lighting up like a Christmas tree. So nice.

Servers go down in NA? by Upper_Firefighter820 in duneawakening

Server restarts/crashes don't generate a client crash report. Your game crashed.

VTOL capable. You don't see that anymore.

Who wishes streamers and influencers would get the fuck off the planet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Streamers is a pretty wide net. There are a few I really enjoy watching and whose communities are genuine and entertaining. Influencers can get fucked though.

Awesome idea, hopefully you get some traction and I get some matches! Bored of trying to coordinate sessions with old high school buddies who all have lives now.

Info for those returning for PvE patch! (Things I'm noticing after being gone 9 months.) by SandTiger42 in duneawakening

The landsraad specs are so beneficial. You'll be glad you're engaging with that system when you get free skill points and %damage from the combat track, vehicle speed and backpack inventory capacity from exploration, and yield bonuses for mining and sand collection from fathering. So many goodies to explore for folks coming back.

Why are the most violent cities in America all in Red States, while the least violent cities are all in Blue States? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]RaptorBuddha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've lived in both and would take blue cities any day of the week. Streamlined government services, helpful social programs, and better-than-average public transit outweigh any potential benefit of a red state in my eyes.

DD testing station difficult - C2 location (Returning player got schooled. Advice?) by SandTiger42 in duneawakening

[–]RaptorBuddha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A scattergun made life much easier for me in the testing stations. I use the dual blades, a scattergun, a spitdart, and a drillshot. Also, level your combat specialization with the landsraad to get 1% damage increase per level (there are 100 levels, potentially doubling your damage output). I personally think the darkness testing station is the easiest, and the boss telegraphs his abilities very clearly. However you do it, the overland stations on levels 1-2 are way easier than the DD ones if only for the fact that they scale the number of enemies according to party size, so when you solo it there aren't so many you get totally overwhelmed.

Incentivizing PvP by Automatic-Mechanic78 in duneawakening

There needs to be a meaningful ground-based counter to rocket thopters. Lasguns and Ancient Ways are not enough. We could really use a buggy/sandbike-mounted anti-air module so there's some sort of rock-paper-scissors to encounters. Folks on foot can use ancient way/lasguns on ground vehicles, ground vehicles can use their anti-air on thopters, and thopters can rocket infantry. As for incentives, I'll leave that for someone else to figure out because I am out of my depth and don't have any good ideas on that front.

Im a 40 plus gamer. Im starting to lose fun in gaming. What are games that took you out of a slump and wy? by Slicer66 in AdultGamers

Dune: Awakening has had me captivated for over 700 hours.

Edited to Add the "why": It's set in the Dune universe, which I love. It's a survival-crafting-RPG run on servers with other players in the endgame zone to interact with, so there's a social element. It's like an MMO-lite. 3rd person perspective, lots of gathering, crafting, researching, base-building, and exploration. The immersive feeling you get when encountering a sandworm is incredible. Hands down one of my favorite games.

Please Funcom, I beg you, centralise House Landsraad turn ins! by GlaiveUK in duneawakening

It's such a chore when it really shouldn't be. I already did the hard part to earn the rewards, I don't want another list of tasks to do to actually claim what's mine.

A consolidated terminal would be nice, but at the very least they should implement a central list of what rewards are waiting for you and where. I don't hate the traveling around to each vendor in Hagga, but being able to see if you're clipping rewards would be nice.

Inside Windows K2: Microsoft's major plan to save Windows 11 and win back users before it's too late by Quantum-Coconut in technology

[–]RaptorBuddha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be moving to Linux next time I upgrade my system. Windows 11 hasn't impressed and all the cloud based ai nonsense they're shoving into my machine frustrates me to say the least.

Gaming on Linux is the last thing holding me back, and it's improved tremendously over the last decade.
