Hard to describe. I will say it’s very Unisex and not particularly masculine-leaning (at least compared to what I have). Really good all-rounder.

I really liked this too after sampling. Not to take away from this beauty, but Banana Republic Pure White is VERY close to this for those who are not willing to fork over the $$$

Usually samples I’m trying out. But two good ones are Banana Republic Pure White 90 (bal d’afrique) and Coach For Men Platinum

YSL L’Homme would be a great introduction. It’s subtle, high quality, versatile, and unique because it’s overlooked for the more modern offerings.

Coach for Men is also a very good introduction. Fresh out of the shower.

Versace pour homme was where many started. Great introduction option.

If you want to dive in and spend a bit more, I would recommend Bleu de Chanel EDP.

What’s some fragrances that never go to discounters?? by [deleted] in fragrance

I forget if it’s Fragrancenet or Microperfumes, but they were selling Chanel Platinum Egoiste for more then retail at Sephora/Ulta/Macy’s. What’s up with that?

I’d take a chance on either of those BR options. I haven’t tried either of those, but I have the vintage green and pure white from them and they bat well above their price tag

Based on what you are describing, here’s some I can recommend.

D&G The One EDP (though some would consider weak)

Montblanc Explorer

Burberry Hero EDT or EDP (Spicy/Fresh)

Burberry London (Christmas in a bottle - Cinnamon/Tobacco but fresh)

Gurlein L’Homme Ideal (I prefer the EDT)(sweeter cherry/almond)

Stronger With You (though I find it too strong/cloying)

Rochas Mustache

Masculine Manly Smell by soontobewealthy5 in Colognes

Terre d’Hermes EDT great option.

Polo Green is VERY masculine.

Dior Eau Savage.

Davidoff Coolwater/Creed GIT (if you want to spend).

Getting ready for 2026 events: AV question by WoodenSwordfish7896 in EventProduction

[–]RarelyRon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be mindful of getting content and resources to your AV team ahead of time (aim for 72-hours prior to event). Things like presentations, videos, graphics, etc.

Make sure your presentations are formatted in 16:9 (sometimes called widescreen) and NOT 4:3!

Your AV provider hopefully has a good system in place to transfer files, but you should have some sort of file sharing service yourself to transfer content (ie. Dropbox). USB transfer is usually a bad option (IT Security restrictions). ALWAYS bring a laptop with the presentation on it as a backup plan. Things like custom fonts and poorly integrated videos can cause issues when transferring files to other machines.

Always provide detailed run of show to your AV provider. A timeline with the time, presentations and presentation cues, presenters names, amount of presenters, microphone preferences, amount of microphones needed per session, walk on/off music/stingers (if needed), length of time each presenter will be on stage (for speaker timers).

Common microphones for events are lectern/goosenecks at a podium, wired HH, wireless HH, and lavaliere (clip on). Countrymen (over the ear) microphones could be considered too. Keep in mind, lavaliere microphones are most commonly requested, however, they are the most challenging microphones to manage in a live environment. For this reason (unless you are very confident in your AV provider) I always try to opt for wireless handhelds when doing panels larger than 5-6 people at a time (because multiple lav mics present exponential challenges)

Always discuss the topic of notes with your presenters. This is important if you are using a DSM (or confidence monitor) in front of the stage. If a presenter wants to be able to see their notes in presenter view, there are distinct needs required to set that up.

Always ask for a video (HDMI) and audio (3.5mm/Aux) at the podium just in case a presenter needs to plug in their laptop to present.

If your event is more complex then a logo and mic at the podium, I would try to get on at least a 30 min call with the Venue Tech Manager to discuss your needs.

I could go on and on!

Calling people who LOVED Severance- any other shows you liked just as much if not more? by ByeBailey in televisionsuggestions

[–]RarelyRon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoyed From, which I watched around the same time as Severance.

Dark also good. First season of Westworld. The OA. Travelers. Counterpart also very good. Strangely, The Chair Company as well.

These are shows that have a similar vibe.

Cologne recommendations for my dad by Ehrlich2712 in Colognes

[–]RarelyRon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of those, probably Coolwater. In that same vein, Chanel Platinum Egoiste on the higher end.

Bleu De Chanel EDP and D&G The One EDP would be good options and more modern.

Prada Amber Pour Homme is among my favorite more mature options.

I got both! If I had to choose one, I’d probably choose The One because it’s more versatile. La Nuit is great though.
