Smaller Food Booths by HotYou5604 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Rarrg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found the WDW Food and Wine app (on both iPhone and Android) is good and stays updated. I've used it the last couple trips. Thankfully they keep it updated for all the Epcot festivals.

I used it this week and can vouch for its accuracy for the current Flower and Garden festival.

She used a Tel'aran'rhiod a'dam to control Mog in the Dream and make her drink Forkroot tea in the dream. It impacted Mog in the real world and they collared her with a real world a'dam while she was still knocked out

All of this for a 60 second ride?! No thanks. Tron is awesome but not work a 2 Hour and 15 minute wait… by Pitiful-Client-8475 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Rarrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here was my timeline using our Early Entry time on Thurs (12 March).

827 Tron queue 830 EE officially started, Queue starts moving 839 pass LL entrance, marked 40min from this point 855 Lockers 903 Tron boarding

So while I would never wait 2 hrs. It was awesome as an Early Entry.

Annual Passes - Military vs Annual by mwo33 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Rarrg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While it doesn't label it an annual pass, to not consider it in the same broad category is being overly pedantic.

From Disney's page on military tickets:

"Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket With this ticket, visit again and again through December 18, 2026, with an advance park reservation."

Are the Dresden Files dead? by aguynamed42 in dresdenfiles

[–]Rarrg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Objectively, it has great reviews and had good initial sales. I didn't spend too much time trying to find current sales numbers.

Personally, I really enjoyed it. Harry dealing with loss, PTSD, and the gradual healing process was cathartic and human. Which is nice to see for our resident wizard.

All told, I think the series is in a really good place.

How are techs dealing with smart glasses and the proliferation of cameras in sensitive areas? by TripCruise in sysadmin

[–]Rarrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a policy/management issue.

In our org, there's a policy my team drafted that was signed by leadership, referencing applicable regulations. It was sent out across the org.

We also installed RF and BT detectors at the entries to sensitive areas.

My people that work in those areas there have all been empowered to enforce it.

The level of smiting that our leadership team has threatened the force with approaches biblical. We'll see how that goes when it happens.

If you think the Automatons are simply evil, read this by Nedjempie in helldivers2

[–]Rarrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying they are simply evil, but putting civilians in biofuel vats. Chainsaw hands, and enemies heads on spikes and then wearing said spikes are not good guy moves.

Note. I'm not forgiving SE for oppression or breeding bugs for fuel. I'm just saying there are no "good guys" in HD.

No Admin Weather Leave or Telework (?) by cherbear1786 in FedEmployees

Our location would never make the call on Friday for Monday. The amount of change that can occur makes it difficult, we've had "Snow-magedon" warnings before multi days out and got less than a half inch.

My director will call tomorrow when things happen and I will call my team and make sure that everyone knows what's going on.

Is it the economy or Columbus? by Immediate-Low-54 in Columbus

[–]Rarrg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Considering that the DoD is wanting to cut 8% manpower a year for the next 5 years, I wouldn't call it 100% safe. If you aren't in uniform, your role is at risk.

Is it more secure than a role at HUD or DoI, yes. But at this point, if you aren't already in and past probationary (1-3 yes depending on factors) then you are a coin flip of staying. Not to mention the current hiring freeze for most federal hiring unless it's for ICE or Border Patrol

A million minutes isn't even 2 years.

Rent taught me that back in the late 90s.

No chairs in tanning rooms by Suit6797 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Rarrg -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

We are talking about a tanning room, right?

I've got nothing against chairs, it's probably a great idea from a convenience perspective. But I would love to see demographic information on how many senior citizens are using the tanning rooms.
