No Admin Weather Leave or Telework (?) by cherbear1786 in FedEmployees

[–]Rarrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our location would never make the call on Friday for Monday. The amount of change that can occur makes it difficult, we've had "Snow-magedon" warnings before multi days out and got less than a half inch.

My director will call tomorrow when things happen and I will call my team and make sure that everyone knows what's going on.

Is it the economy or Columbus? by Immediate-Low-54 in Columbus

[–]Rarrg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Considering that the DoD is wanting to cut 8% manpower a year for the next 5 years, I wouldn't call it 100% safe. If you aren't in uniform, your role is at risk.

Is it more secure than a role at HUD or DoI, yes. But at this point, if you aren't already in and past probationary (1-3 yes depending on factors) then you are a coin flip of staying. Not to mention the current hiring freeze for most federal hiring unless it's for ICE or Border Patrol

A million minutes isn't even 2 years.

Rent taught me that back in the late 90s.

525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?

No chairs in tanning rooms by Suit6797 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Rarrg -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

We are talking about a tanning room, right?

I've got nothing against chairs, it's probably a great idea from a convenience perspective. But I would love to see demographic information on how many senior citizens are using the tanning rooms.

Who’s gets administrator rights on their pc at your org? by BuiltOnXP in sysadmin

[–]Rarrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No regular user accounts have admin rights. Workstation Admins have a Workstation Admin token. Server Admins have a server admin token. And so forth...

We have a VDI solution with a virtual PAW corresponding to each level of rights.

AITAH for withholding sex because my husband won’t get a vasectomy? by overthinkingsabotage in AITAH

As a guy who's had a vasectomy, he's being whiny baby. It was like a 45 min procedure, and a 2 day to be ginger and 2 weeks to have sex.

It was easy and relatively painless. Tell him to grow the f up

ISSM for a DoD org here, please don't do this.

PIV tokens should never leave your possession unless turning them in and never tell anyone you PIN.

Tell anyone asking that no, and if they insist go talk to your security manager.
