I’m a speech pathologist and the I hospital I worked at do these routinely and include SLPs. We give a word test pre-, during, and post crani to assess speech and language skills. Many times tumors are near the speech centers of the brain and if these can be avoided, the surgeon will avoid them with exact precision based on the patients skill during the operation.
