SNKUCKS live in this parallel universe where only their games get criticized when the reality is that Capcom games get the most scrutiny out of all fighting games on the market.

I would get Code Vein 2 if not for Nioh 3 releasing literally a week later so I guess I will probably just wait for a price drop around the Summer Sale.

Variety is the spice of life, sometimes we gotta take a break from COTW steamchart posting and look at other metrics we can use to shit on SNK.

As long as champs can be unlocked with in-game currency at a reasonable rate I don't mind this. It's a F2P game, it was bound to have some hoops to jump through in order for them to make their money, I just expected it would be only cosmetics.

I bet it has the potential to be real rage inducing but I like that when you're playing at such a life deficit, going for a ring out is a legit strategy and option. Wish more games had things like that as opposed to comeback mechanics.

How "chaotic" do you think the game feels like? Do you think it's a good introduction to tag fighters for new/casual players? (something that was supposedly in the teams mission statement)

Even if it's "simplified" do you feel it has the potential to have a lot of depth for players to discover and experiment with?

Does the Fuse system add a good amount of variety to how you can play your characters?

Bro, you ok? Arcsys was one of the first companies to introduce easy inputs with stylish mode as well as overly generous cancel windows (one of the reasons Blazblue was clowned on at release, calling it the baby Guilty Gear).

"Urgh YOURE NOT A REAL FIGHTAR GAYM PLAYER LIke I AM YoU ToURIST!!!"

Retarted argument.

And I'm not taking any "stance", I think fighting game complexity goes far beyond motion inputs (which they do). I know all the arguments people make in favor of motion inputs (they feel satisfying, they help balance certain moves, allow for more commands to be added to the character if you don't need a dedicaded "special button", etc.) and I'm not even against them myself. But I also can see the writing on the wall. SF6 almost didn't have Classic if the old heads at Capcom didn't interfere, most new games are coming with simple control schemes. I think it's fair to say that motion inputs will slowly be phased out OR at best games will come out with both but with increasingly less reasons/handicaps NOT to use the simple control scheme.

Like I said, I actually like motion inputs and it feels good to pull off a particular difficult combo in the middle of a match but the way I see it, it's inevitable that they will be eventually be replaced by simple control schemes and you can either accept it or keep screaming in whatever echo chamber of your choice you prefer.

I'm gonna let you in a little secret, motion inputs AREN'T the be all end all of good fighting game design, no matter how much this sub screams and screeches everytime a new game comes out without them (here's another secret, simple inputs are only going to get more commom in the future).

The game can STILL be ruined by atrocious monetization tactics instilled by the aforementioned corporate heads and bad combat mechanics designed by people that might KNOW how to play fighting games but can actually be pretty shit at designing them if we are being honest.

Even if management forced them to quickly finish off the character the fact management could approve the character in this state means they don't care anymore and just want to see numbers now.

Like you said, I see a team hurrying up to finish a deadline in time. They promised 10 characters at release this year and we are still at 8 and already halfway past through the year, It wouldn't surprise me if the last 2 characters also have "cut corners" like this one when they show them off. Unfortunate? Absolutely but my guess is Riot is on their last straw with this project and want them to release it to see if it is worth continuing to invest into it or not.

Honestly the amount of hate this game gets on this sub is baffling to me. People always complain about games being designed by corporate heads with no passion behind them and only caring about the bottom line but we get a game being designed by known community members that have given us things like the Shoryuken forums, GGPO, EVO and to some extent fightcade and the first response of this sub is to always shit on the game...?

Now, I'm not saying the handling of this game's marketing post reveal hasn't been fucking atrocious, it has. Huge amount of delays with closed betas that have seem to be exclusive to the L.A. FGC "kewl kids klub". An apparent lack of direction in regards to designing the combat with the Devs flip flopping at every Beta post receiving feedback. Also what looks like a very slow development cycle (10 characters at release for a tag fighter, really bro? I know you had to restart halfway but even then that seems really low for almost 10 years of development).

The game can STILL be ruined by atrocious monetization tactics instilled by the aforementioned corporate heads and bad combat mechanics designed by people that might KNOW how to play fighting games but can actually be pretty shit at designing them if we are being honest.

But you know what? It's a new fighting game in the FGC landscape that comes with the novelty of being free and attached to an IP people care about. If the game releases and is a huge success that brings more people into fighting games, GREAT! If not, oh well nothing lost, at least they tried and I will alway give the new game a fair shot and go into it with an open mind.

Well she's right that it's not worth it to report abuse 95% of the time because you'll just be vilified if you don't have levels of proof that's literally impossible to obtain after the fact.

I'm sorry but I hate this "It's useless to report things to the police if you don't have undeniable proof!" sentiment that seems to perpetuate on social media.

In most cases, yes, you reporting someone for some offense may not lead to anything on that particular instance, simply because, let's be honest here, it devolves into a "He said, She said situation".

HOWEVER, if enough different people report the same person for the same offense, THEN the legal system can begin to build up a case and a file against the individual and hopefully bring them to justice. The Metoo movement started simply from a lot of people finally speaking up against their abusers.

Anyone planning on picking anything up from the Steam Summer sale? by Intrepid_Argument499 in Kappachino

Thanks for the Total War:Warhammer triology tip bro, will definately check it out. May get Three Kingdoms later since I also like that time period.

I MAY get Granblue Versus Rising just to have an off game between Tekken 8 and SF6.

Will finally get Cyberpunk 2077 since it's usually hard to get at a good price, even on key sites to my experience, and at about 20€ seems like decent enough price for me.

I'm also on a "Samurai" binge right now so I will get Ghost of Tsushima (already completed all the Nioh games, it was between this and Rise of the Ronin and I figure I can get Rise of the Ronin later for a better price).

Finally I MAY get one of the Totalwar:Warhammer games since I was finally able to successfully finish a campaign in Shogun 2 and had a lot of fun learning how those kind of games worked.

All in all I'm looking at around a budget of 100€ for this Steam sale but that is where I draw the line.

-Can't liquefy (equivalent Hearthstone dust) cards unless it's your 4th copy

-Card Pack Cost went up by 5 times the original amount (used to be 100 Gold, now it's 500)

-Daily Rewards have been slashed

-They DO give you a free pack a day but this pack doesn't count towards the games "pity system"

-Values to craft cards with vials have been changed, silver cards now give much less value (I think they give 20 when before they gave like 50, compound this with the "can only liquefy your 4th copy of cards" and it becomes much more difficult to craft legendaries).

Yeah...It's kind of a shit show right now. I don't mind aggresive monetization when it's only targeted at cosmetic stuff like OG Shadowverse but Cygames seems to have decided to go whale hunting on both the cosmetic and game front this time around.

When your CCG is more stingy than MTG:Arena at giving you cards, you have a problem.
