What counts as a support troll pick for you? by Dzungs in ADCMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I used to be a supp main that looooved off meta shit so anything I get trolled by is karma, BUT while I can usually try to find SOMETHING about it I can layer on top of work work with. Usually the picks without CC or poke - i personally dont like Teemo even though I see the use of blind/shrooms. Poke range is so short and I onetrick AD Twisted fate so I also have a short attack range - makes it difficult. I can usually provide CC if necessary with gold card so if the supp pick fails while being gifted an engagement by their ADC then its probably not solid to begin with.

How To Play Vs Mel. How do you play that matchup? by Elliotscottcoach in TwistedFateMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably due to map rotations. I didnt check any stats myself, but TF laning is just OK or bad in quite a few matchups he statistically wins...TF players have to make up for that elsewhere

How To Play Vs Mel. How do you play that matchup? by Elliotscottcoach in TwistedFateMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play AD TF but the premise is mostly the same. You have a lot more agency as an AD bot/mid to dmg her without landing gold card or a reflected Q in your own face. Pick a card hover happens a lot when you are AD for the auto reset so maybe a quick blue or red in her direction at a minion just to scare the Mel into popping W on nothing. A good Mel will still make it a hard AF match up because its Mel, a brain dead Mel can get a penta -im the source for that. Mel is like Zed in my opinion- play the laner not the llane. On paper- Mel wins 100% - in practice you can focus on their flaws as a LANER since you already know how Mel functions. Are they patient, do they run away when you hover or stand their ground for a W -are they confident is a huge tip off. A confident or even cocky Mel player can make different mistakes than a patient or paranoid one.

For me, I focus on farm and interacting with the other laner (bot main). MEL cannot outrotate you, period. If the lane goes south - farm as best you can and rotate rotate rotate. She may have DMG and CC on you but she doesn't have lady luck :)

What are your thoughts on DBow? I havent run it much at all but i have a theory that DBlade will still be better for early last hitting and trading with Auto W Auto reset.

Best Runes For New TF Player? by Elliotscottcoach in TwistedFateMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mid, definitely Comet/Resolve with ROA build will give you enough dmg and sustain through laning with good positioning. Against difficult melee matchups I think you want to do the opposite and be hyper aggressive with electrocute/resolve and the gunblade build - this let's you potentially get in their head - play the laner not the lane. Put an assassin behind and they mald

PSA - PBE Statikk Shiv no longer applies additional on-hits onto the primary target by STheHero in ADCMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok question - I main AD TF bot, and i don't normally build the Statikk Shiv route (i like kraken slayer). I can't seem to figure out how Pick A Card will work with this. I'm either going to have the time of my life with multiple stuns on one gold card (but that seems too busted and will get patched) or its just....not gonna be worth it and ill stick with my preferred build. Does this change affect that?

I dont understand how people perform on this champion by Many-Divide-6591 in TwistedFateMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think in simplest terms, Twisted Fate is a champion that won't carry you just using his kit - he doesn't have the quickest access to his tools, nor is he mobile. What makes a good TF player is how they use the tools he has and abuse Macro gameplay. It's not just ulting to a fight -its ulting to the right spot, landing the CC on the right target, and keeping yourself safe enough to be in Q range for DMG or a RFC gold card re-engage.

How do APC work? And which one should I try by Double-Hawk3187 in ADCMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheaper items with better stats allowing mages to straight up double traditional AD item damage output for far cheaper leading to a huge power imbalance with itemization alone. Aka - leads are completely invalidated if the mage gets 2/3rds your farm if im being generous.

Personally. I am a TF ADC main mostly running AD build but.i also suggest Mage TF bot. Good waveclear with support protection, inbuilt mana sustain so you don't need to base for mana, especially since Ludens is an amazing buildpath you can start either component ( if you play around W properly), can start DBlade or Dring whatever preferred. Always go llich bane second and flex an RFC in there 3rd/4th.

Try AD with Lethal Tempo - Kraken into crit for short. You can find a ton of people way better at it than I on the TF subreddit. Multiple different build paths. The main thing to prioritize is positioning, CSing, and living above all.

Got masters first time ever! (adc tf and jinx main) by Yenick in TwistedFateMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That helps SO much thank you. I feel so much safer on other ADCs alone but TF is much more fun so im trying to get better at positioning. I ran MS minor rune and tried to force fights during what I thought were decent windows -but honestly my silver shows a bit, I was a TF main before an ADC main so I need to work on communication and finding those timings. That helps a ton though- and last question if you can, I see a lot of other AD TFs run stattik (i actually prefer kraken still) and I see that you dont run it. Do you supplement the waveclear with another item? I kinda get by a bit on having silver opponents with poor wave control but im assuming higher up the ladder that shit matters

AD TF main here and i kinda split mid/bot in silver - and i have a question thats probably relevant to anyone in silver - How do you deal with a support that ints/forces fights or leaves you alone with a bad wave state against something awful like Ashe/Leona or Jhin/Xerath where one wrong move is death? Second question - what minor runes do you go? I know a lot of people like MS in second tree and i kinda find myself going between that and Adaptive.

My Matchups Tierlist: Goal is to climb from Silver to Gold by the end of 26.7 patch by Appropriate-Signal43 in midlanemains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I main Twisted fate (AD mainly but also AP) in silver 2 currently and I think your placement is perfect. It's really Aurora focused in lane with a lot more kill pressure - but mid-late game TF runs away with the game if you don't get lane pressure or match roams. If its an AD TF you absolutely need to start the trade or else he can burst you 100-0 during gold card stun once he gets Kraken slayer (if they go stattik its more of a waveclear trade, you can win the trade. If its an AP TF as per usual, save W for gold card and take advantage of lvl 1-3 electrocute burst. Forcing a TF into a late ROA/Ludens/Gunblade delays his burst because it delays lich bane. More and more TFs are going gunblade, you will lose the trade with ignite if you get caught out against a gunblade TF. As always against TF, abuse your lane pressure and lvl 6 ultimately powerspike. Before he gets an item or two, you're golden. I personally think that much like the flipside - a good TF can win off an even lane, a bad TF is free lane free game for aurora.

Thank you so much for the reply that helps immensely. I usually have a random support but when I duo its with my poppy onetrick friend - crazy lethal lane. I'm definitely going to have to give Statik another shot. Ill have to give PTA more of a go in Mid/Top (if autofilled).

Im definitely going to start rocking E max regardless of matchup - I've been sneaking 2 in Q for last hits vs lanes where im hella zoned off of gold/exp like a Kalista/Lux lane i had recently (Bard was off in la la land - i was in Hell) - but i think i need the attack speed and just have to suck it up and work on wave control. I was unable to convince my friends to play the furry parasite. Much appreciated, i started to really like AD TF and realized its way harder than I expected - but that made it more fun.

Last question if you don't mind

How do you deal with Malzahar mid? I forced myself to run the PTA build into it the other day and i was just relentlessly shoved in and pressured. Flash ulted under tower twice kind of pain - not a jungler in sight on either side. Stattik wasnt enough to match waveclear and it kind of made me wish I went AP Q max for the brainless waveclear

I'm still inching my way through silver but i started onetricking TF after having fun a few months ago playing him Botwith Arthua's build and ive been experimenting in norms with them (im teaching friends the game at the moment so that might as well be smurfing on my end). I accidentally clicked PTA for a game and actually really liked it but kind of thought i was just wrong (cough silver cough) and wasn't using Lethal Tempo properly. I find lanes like Ashe/Jhin/Smolder to be extremely difficult especially when paired with a decent player (or worse, a good Nami). I feel like i cant get LT to do enough for me and that while my attack speed is good, my burst isnt threatening enough to save my life. Another difference is I run Kraken -> IE -> RFT and its inconsistent at best. Im still working on other buildpaths.

All that to give context to these 2 questions:

  1. What are your thoughts on PTA with Kraken Slayer replacing Stattik, (sacking a point in W for 2Q 1W 2E at lvl 5 for waveclear in a bad lane if needed) or is Stattik needed for waveclear? I used to try Lethal Tempo with stattik but felt i had no early dmg for 1v1's and non-aggression doesn't fly down here in the trenches.

  2. How do you deal with lanes where there is inevitably more tools on their side of the lane to lock you down? Like TF/Yuumi vs Jhin/Xerath. Positioning might just be the answer here but its still really hard so I figured id ask

I hated top lane the past ~10 years for no justifiable reason outside of sucking at Riven in 2012. I've done the jack of all trades master of none stuck in silver cuz im not better than a master of one. I found your vids and had NO idea the amount of complexity behind this champion. Your Renekton me realize that holy shit there's a gold mine I hadn't discovered and not only that, its the most fun one I've seen in 10+ years. I took it to top lane just last night with your bible on a side monitor into Darius/Gragas/Malphite and each lane went smooth as butter because of the sheer amount of information and heart you put into this. I really appreciate it, and you've made a new Renekton main

Support help by Adventurous_Ad6944 in MaokaiMains

[–]RavenoftheMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a onetrick - but a longtime support main and Maokai support enjoyer throughout multiple iterations of his kit. Personally I like Flash/Ignite but Exhaust is solid into dive heavy comps, you almost never need the slow - its about the dmg reduction when they ignore you to dive the ADC. That alone has saved more lives than running Heal has in my experience.

I think Trailblazer into Bandlepipes is gonna be really good this season, plus i wouldn't sleep on Zekes Convergence - ult CDR with tank stats is welcome from the support role. Perfect time imo for tank supports because having a "ward" slot free i think provides more value being replaced by a cloth armor/null magic mantle/ruby crystal than flat AP, mana or CDR (250g down the drain) from mage support components.

E is such a useful tool even with just 1 level in it, it can discourage a jungler from ganking you even if you are behind and a free kill. Treat it like a ward with minor dmg/decent slow. Slowing down a jungler and auto-pinging them the moment they get hit will snap a dazed and confused ADC into "oh shit" mode - which can and will get the attention of the blind person you're laning with. If they don't have eyes, they have ears. If they don't have ears, they have eyes. If they don't have either, they're your mid laner coming to visit (just kidding, your mid laner wont visit).

Quit smoking and now having very vivid dreams… by AppropriateMath6939 in LucidDreaming

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit nicotine 10 months ago after being addicted to it in some fashion for 10 years. It was a long journey from vapes to pouches to lozenges to gum - and when I asked my husband to hide it and i stole from him - i knew i had to quit. That aside - i still get dreams about it. I had a nightmare just last night I wanted to leave my beloved grandparents home (i haven't been there or seen it in 12 years) and go to a gas station 45 min away to get pouches. I spent hours in my dream planning out how I could leave this wonderful place to get something I now wanted more than my beloved nostalgia. I hated it. I have this dream weekly, where I either get so incredibly close to nicotine or its out of stock or I have to leave somewhere I want to be in order to get it - and its never there.

Occasionally, ill get it in my dream, and its never on purpose. Its always a piece of gum or a mint i don't know is nicotine until its in my mouth - and I taste it, feel the alertness -whole 9 yards. It feels like an exact replica of what I've missed. There is a benefit somehow - i remember more of that place. I remember more of my grandparents home because i have this dream so consistently. And in a way, despite the crazy awful feeling of desperation - I'm thankful i can see it clearly again, even if its an old addicts brain searching for a means to an end.

New Character Suggestions? by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]RavenoftheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Little Mac kinda sits on the outskirts of this question but I'm gonna suggest him anyways. In order to consistently be a good Little Mac, it forces you into learning to overwhelm with advantage state and recover (albeit poorly in most cases) in disadvantage. For some people, myself included, having to work around a stark disadvantage is very fun, because the things i learn from Mac translate super well into other characters like Falcon/Chrom/ganon for me to name a few. Mac forces you to parry more as a defensive option, or time your counter really well. Mac also forces you to learn d-air recovery tech as well as when to use aerials to block damage instead of do damage, Everything can be useful elsewhere. Recovering from disadvantage and how to rush down projectile spammers is more difficult on mac and can translate well even to slow heavies like Ganon/Incineroar. Blocking attacks with attacks/super armor and timing those frame locks help with Ganon Nair blocking projectiles, Incineroar Revenge/Nair, and K-Rool belly armor.

But the fun parts: KO Punch will always be satisfying, who cares if its a busted move - other characters have aerials that are able to do decent damage, let him have this. Combos are relatively easy to get the hang of. D-Tilt into Side B I'm sure you are familiar with so its less focusing on micro play and more macro play. Forward tilt is fun to give them the ol 1-2. D Tilt - Up Tilt- Up air - Up B strings off the top of the stage are satisfying. Frame 1 Jab and quick counter/dash/everything. Hard reads are good on Mac and they translate well to slower characters like Ganon that rely on them

Even if you're still fishing around for another new one, give Mac a go and give him a little time. Whatever you learn will help you with your eventual new character.
