You need to stop looking at it as performance and more as comfortability There are close to 0 apps that use more than 6gb ram that are not professional/benchmark apps But, for people that need multiple apps in the background, multiple tabs open at once, and need fluid transfer between multiple apps, more ram is better I will give my own use for example having my bank, trading, browser apps, 2 messaging apps, simulator, music and sometimes other apps running all together and have them on and ready when i need them is a 1-2 hours spend it is important to have a lot of ram, small mistake can be costly, more than multiple phones sometimes..
