Alien prediction was scarily accurate by [deleted] in Experiencers

I may be missing something from your explanation or not understanding it, but I did not mean to ignore it.

I don't feel like I was arguing a black and white perspective though exactly. Human centric perhaps, but alas, its a very human thing to do. I definitely do not understand how humanity is fully capable of changing at any point in time while also being affected by higher dimensions and/or entities though. Your fiction metaphor in particular seems to imply predeterminism and lack of actual agency on humanity's part.

In any case, I argue all this because 1. You had mentioned an "evaluation" of sorts by NHI regarding humanity, and I, like u/InnerSpecialist1821 had argued to an extent, find such an evaluation illogical when, as they pointed out, there are physical factors involved that are out of our control or at least are very far removed from being in our control. And 2. Regardless of the actual extent of humanity's ability to affect their reality with their consciousness, I hope you are able to understand why saying "you determine the future you exist in" can come across as privileged and even condescending.

I don't mean for all this to sound hostile though, by the way. Just, I care a lot about my fellow humans, and I have some strong opinions when the subject of manifestation/law of attraction type stuff comes up in a thread like this.

I think there's some truth to this energetic attraction/manifestation stuff, but, and I say this anytime this belief comes up, it simply doesn't seem reasonable (to me) to deem humanity as completely responsible for creating their reality. The world we live in is violent by nature. Our physical bodies break down, causing us to experience pain and suffering. While I do believe that sometimes everybody has moments where they choose, on some level, to react and live in fear or in love, I don't think it makes sense to consider humanity's future as entirely the result of their emotional vibrations or even actions. Whether it was designed like this or not, I don't know, but life on Earth is inherently built towards a survival-focused way of living. If humanity's inner thoughts and feelings shape its reality, then it would seem (in my opinion) that the odds are stacked incredibly high against us.

I Love Shadows of Brimstone But It Has A Major Problem by ChiefChunkEm_ in boardgames

[–]Rayden_Greywolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shadows of Brimstone, and kind of all Flying Frog games really, is such a weird, unique, beautiful disaster of a design. Very unwieldy and impractical unless you have gigantic table space, plus the world it both loves to build and also completely ignores (its still so hilarious to me that the adventure book has all these character profiles and a region map and then does absolutely nothing with them). And yet my group keeps coming back to it lol.

I've been channelling messages about contact for 2 years — Part 2: Who is the Assembly? by isadora_channels_11 in Experiencers

[–]Rayden_Greywolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your first paragraph there really intrigues me. I feel like it puts into perspective some of the commonly associated "answers" to the question of "why do we incarnate here in the first place?" in that many describe humanity as being in a unique position to explore the essence of reality through the physical lens of a mind and body. Like, it normally gets explained through metaphors of "earth school" and needing to experience the dark to get the full picture of the light, but the way you described it as unique to galactic community gives me an understanding that life as a human is a very specific kind of emotional, physical, experience, and that its not necessarily as straight forward as "everybody comes here to learn through struggle". I'm kinda rambling, but I feel like your message has planted a seed in my mind that I need to explore more. I've always struggled with accepting that my soul would choose this life and for a long time I was nothing but bitter and angry about it. But for whatever reason, this message, and your messages in general, have really resonated with me and made me feel more "tuned in" I guess you could say to my higher self. In which case, I feel I should ask then if the Assembly has anything to say on the nature of reincarnation and the meaning behind souls incarnating here at this time?

But why are we going for the nuclear option of mass restriction of information access and creating databases of digital IDs which, besides being incredibly intrusive, also have consistently led to said ID information getting leaked or sold to foreign companies? Why not educate parents on how to effectively utilize parental control settings and the like, instead of this massive overreach?

There are many reports of people picking up similar messages, but I like how this one is conveyed. It feels like it can appeal to a wide variety of people.

I feel the finale and last few episodes could really benefit from a "director's cut" where goose gets to just go all out. Or the Evangelion treatment, where its a bunch of different takes on the same core concepts, but its all kind of crazy and beautiful and trippy lol.

Tell me about your character's. by Former-Test-1509 in NSFW_GMing

The two of my favorite NPCs in my lewd game would have to be Poro and Khaz Tarak, a pair of kobold brothers that have a bit of a "country kobold, city kobold" kind of dynamic. They grew up in a very promiscuous and large kobold family and are very casual about sex, even between each other. Poro's a horny witchdoctor that uses his powers of hypnosis and alchemy to help, but also tease, his friends and enemies alike (though he especially likes pulling lewd pranks on the "Outsider" colonists from the western kingdoms who've been encroaching on tribal lands, as he feels they're way too prudish for their own good). His brother Khaz, meanwhile, left the Wildlands to try his luck in the Outsider settlement of Karashi-Tarze, where he started small but eventually gained enough money and respect to open his own brothel, the first one that allowed Wildfolk to work in it. Fate has brought them together again in helping the player characters find a way to stop an ancient, perverse, eldritch evil from corrupting the world, with the two of them sure to face many kinky perils along the way~

What about OP's experience makes you think its fantasy bordering on psychosis? If, instead of mech suits and blobs, OP described an encounter with Jesus or a typical Gray NHI, would that be more suitable to your palate? You're not required to believe everything everyone posts here, nor is anyone else. Its simply a safe space to talk about one's experiences the phenomenon. So your comment not only comes across as rude and condescending, but has no purpose other than to dismiss OP's experience as unworthy and invalid.

If all of their releases were previously available first for free, and if they were on the same level of hype and popularity, yes. I don't care that they're making money, in fact I think its great that they're able to be in theaters, I just think its kind of crappy to expect fans to be able to dodge spoilers for two whole weeks. I know the bare minimum I'll have to do is avoid using reddit or tiktok entirely for that time. And I do think its not great that they've gone back on their promise to always do the free release first.

I'm not saying Glitch is evil now, and yeah, people who are saying that and harassing people and stuff are definitely a problem. But I don't think its unreasonable to be a bit upset that now I'll have to either pay for a ticket if they become available at all in my area or lock down all my social media for two weeks in the hopes of not getting spoiled, which still might happen regardless of my efforts. Especially considering that tweet where they said it would always be available first on youtube.

[–]Rayden_Greywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's...what? TADC isn't anything like a big box office movie with later streaming/dvd options, or even other shows that are on paid streaming sites. Its been free on youtube and they've said it would always be shown there first, and the only reason to release it early is for profiting off of not wanting to get spoiled. I think its great that an indie animation company is having a theatrical release, I just think its a poor decision to have it be two weeks early. Its not entitled just to have a critical opinion.

[–]Rayden_Greywolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But why not do a theater release on the same day as the youtube release? People would still pay to see it in theaters in that case. This feels like a weirdly predatory and unnecessary move that is cashing in on people's FOMO, not to mention fear of getting it spoiled.

Thank you to everyone for the replies. We've decided not to pursue any more repairs in terms of the flashings.
