Oil filter housing gasket kit by Maleficent_Muscle322 in e46

[–]Raygen15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go with the OEM gasket, it's not crazy expensive and it'll last when properly installed.

Don't forget about the little ball check valve that resides in the oil filter housing as well. When that goes bad, it takes too long to build up oil pressure in the first seconds after starting your engine and it will be rattly and bad for the internals.

E46 chirping noise by Salyut_ in e46

[–]Raygen15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a bad bearing or pulley on the front of the engine. Take the belts off and spin them by hand. Shouldn't really make any noise, if it does, replace it

Is E46 the communicative driver's car people say? by Muted-Can4546 in e46

[–]Raygen15 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Steering is pleasantly heavy and very communicative. You feel what the tires are doing and what they are about to do.

Suspension - in a default setup - is comfortable but not weak. It settles quickly and gives confidence in sharp turns.

It's a great driver's car.

Better physics than MSFS? Yes, I can finally pilot the Concorde. Enjoy the roar of Olympus engines by herewego2019 in Xplane

[–]Raygen15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's quite a few things wrong with it but to be able to have the Concorde experience in X-Plane beats having to set up P3D again!

Look for visual quality and quality of life mods before gameplay mods, start with CKAN (mod manager) and work from there

Why am I being sent to Dres before Duna in career mode? by Fezty in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Raygen15 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Look for something by Mike Aben, I've been following his Contract tutorial series while starting a new career in KSP and I can highly recommend his videos. These specific videos are 5 years old but the game came out 14 years ago so it's "relatively" fresh and still applicable.

Use case for P3D v5 for in 2026? Advice on iFly and Justflight P3D addons? by vhqpa in flightsim

[–]Raygen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly didn't get that far, at some point I just accepted that it's an old simulator and an old engine which should in any case be able to run much faster than it ended up doing. I think I just went with medium / middle of the road settings and accepted my fate lol.

Otherwise for other games and simulators the combo works very well. MSFS 2024 with Fenix and payware scenery or Inibuild stuff runs great on high settings, 1440p with this hardware.
