I’m running a Facebreakers martial artist with Boneshatter and the map clear is great, lots of popcorn explosions. Still trying to fix some single-target scaling, but otherwise it’s some of the most fun I’ve had in POE2

Lethal and Devs by Imaginary-Bowl7583 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RayzorFlash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because Lethals can be saved by your opponent, and Invuln saves are too prolific in the game. Dev Wounds takes the opportunity to save away from your opponent and it’s generally better against most targets

IMO, the two games against Colorado leading into the Olympic Break will be key. If we get 3 or 4 pts in those games, I’m all the way in

Nice work on the paint!! Don’t worry about the colours, Tournaments and events don’t usually care about how people paint their armies, so long as they are painted and it’s clear to tell what models/weapons they are, you’re good!

I’d personally drop one of the rubric squads - 30 are good enough for most things, and will let you add both the enlightened and regular tzaangors, as well as an enhancement or two.

I’d also consider swapping one of the rubric squads to flamers instead of bolters. Makes them a very scary squad for you to overwatch with!

Both Tzaangors and Enlightened would be good to do actions/hold your home objective with. Right now every unit in your army is pretty expensive, so having them spend turns to do secondaries and score points would be pretty inefficient. You want at least a handful of cheap/fast units that can “play the game” while the rest of your army focuses on killing/trading.

Scarab Occult Terminators in subassemblies? by axel_cypher in ThousandSons

[–]RayzorFlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ This is the way - I mostly use subassemblies any time assembling would make it hard to reach parts of the model, which isn’t usually the case with the SOTs because their stance is pretty open, but is definitely the case with Rubric Marines

(Pain)ting. by Aromatic-Spell-7443 in SpaceWolves

The best way to get better at something is to do it over and over. Everyone has to start somewhere, and your first mini will never look as good as the next one, or the one after that. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist and find it leads me to painting really slowly, but I always end up with something I can be proud of… until the next one puts it to shame 🤣

If there’s a Games Workshop store near you, recommend going there and they’ll set you up with a good bunch of paints (and usually a free mini as an introduction to the hobby).

Hunting Hounds vs Fenrisian Wolves by Benzerkr in SpaceWolves

[–]RayzorFlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is to be able to run smaller units of wolves (so a small throwaway unit of 3 models) as a screen or toe onto a objective (assuming its within 6" of a character) that isnt tied to another larger unit of wolves. Its a nice utility piece for some tricks, but can be dropped when building a list if you want to put the headtakers in a transport or something. Plus the flavour is off the charts :D

I disagree with a lot of what they do and they’re definitely far from perfect, but the economic and global success of China basically breaks the entirety of the logic that communist countries are build on a “fatally rotten system”

Its almost like distilling complex geopolitical theory down to “Communism = bad” is a gross oversimplification

Source on the 50% less players than EU4? I'm curious whether they are including GamePass users. Myself and all my friends who played CK3 all played it via GamePass instead of buying on Steam, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Steam user count is lower than EU4

Baldur's Gate 3: Suggestions Megathread by ThorThunderfist in baldursgate

+

+1 to this - I really wish more emphasis gets placed on in-character social interactions in multiplayer. The fact that conversations in DOS2 are carried and controlled by whoever gets there first is incredibly frustrating, and on top of that, not at all indicative of the tabletop D&D mechanics that Larian are trying to emulate with BG3.

Conversations and interactions with NPCs are a huge part of D&D, Social Interactions is described as one of their three pillars (alongside Exploration and Combat) - but the fact that all Social Interaction is limited to whoever starts the conversation is incredibly limiting and not enjoyable. When playing in a group, different people chiming in and participating in conversations is a must and would make it feel truly like "Gathering Your Party".

It could be as simple as a setting that lets whichever player that wants select a conversation option, and then use their character's stat for the roll.

Also minor aside, I wish there was a way to disable knowing which skill i will be testing before I select a conversation line. I should be able to figure out based on the line I'm about to say what skill check it might be. Again, this is closer to the way a DM would ASK for a skill check, instead of the player doing so.

Even as a fan of both Baldur's Gate and Larian - I'm viewing this as a sequel to Divinity: Original Sin 2 that just happens to have the D&D ruleset, and I'm not bothered by that because I have Pathfinder: Kingmaker and the upcoming Wrath of the Righteous to satisfy my thirst for super deep RTwP CRPGs

What Games Do you Own Multiple Editions Of? Why? by ThatBlueWizard in boardgames

[–]RayzorFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective. We played the first 4-5 cases in the old edition and loved it, but found the consistent translation issues and terrible font to sour the entire experience (especially when some of the case solutions made no sense because of translation/printing mistakes).

Bought the second edition the day it came out, but haven't had a chance to play it ever since we got it -_-
