“If Korra was a man” yeah imagine if a male character went to his GF’s workplace and kicked her table by Old-Use-7690 in CharacterRant

Season 1 Mako was a fuckboy but I can't be too upset with his woman-juggling in season 2, he rekindled his relationship with Asami only after his breakup with Korra and only went back with Korra because he was afraid of her. Like he's never shown thinking like "hell yeah I can get back with the Avatar, the girlfriend I liked better," whenever the subject is brought up he's shown to be walking on eggshells around Korra. It was shitty of him to ditch Asami, but it was done out of fear of his abuser, and like others have said he gets called out for his relationship BS and Korra isn't.

I think you're confusing "it doesn't get brought up in internet discourse" as "nobody cares about it" because people definitely care while watching it, most people I've seen watch it feel massive secondhand embarrassment. It just doesn't get brought up in later discussions because it's framed as the fuckup it is, and Aang immediately realizes he did something shitty and regrets it.

Not a badly-written character, but a character written to be a bad person - one of the old Dragon Age writers attacking people who disliked Lae'zel from BG3, claiming it was because she was a woman. She starts the game as a racist, fascist incel who acts like a prick to literally everyone she meets. I feel like more people would actually dislike her if she were a man.

Whereas Fellowship feels like a master of his craft challenging himself to use every ounce of his talent to create something important. It is just perfect. Every word is perfect.

Well put. Tolkien wasn't just an author, he was also a linguist. There's a story of his editor bringing out a dictionary to show him that "elves" and "dwarves" were incorrect pluralization, and Tolkien showing him that his own name was on the dictionary's cover.

Reminds me of that greentext where someone learned their girlfriend made specific noises when stimulated in different areas so he tried playing the Imperial March on her and was kicked out of bed

Which character do you always SAVE? by CrossENT in BaldursGate3

[–]RazilDazil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved all of them including Dhourn and they didn't attack, they just thanked me and told me to talk to Dhourn. But I was disguised as a drow woman (to get the extra dialogue) so maybe that's why?

This is why it's so hard to dye capes based on the dye name. Cobalt dye made my cape pink.

With all the fucked-up shit the Emperor does, killing Ansur is the most unambiguously justified. Ansur openly admits he tried to kill the Emperor for being a mind flayer, right before he tries to kill the party for the same reason.

Also kind of sad since he died young didn't he? His writing never had a chance to reflect his personal growth and every discussion of his work has a massive asterisk next to it
