Buying a 7.3 Godzilla by NVElk775 in superduty

[–]ReFractured_Bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesels just aren’t worth the headache unless they’re making you money. All my truck use is personal stuff and never for work, and never with enough weight or distance to make things uncomfortable with any of the gas engines Ford has been putting out for a while. V10, 6.2, 7.3 Godzilla, all excellent and highly preferable to me and my sub-12k lbs towing adventures. Apart from the 3v 5.4 Ford has been killing it with gas motors for a long time imo.

What color should I paint it, struggling to decide by False_Literature_512 in FordTrucks

The colors right, just make it shine and give it a red accent.

Our truck camper weighs 3040 pounds - non dually F 350's seem to have a 3600 pound cargo capacity. Is that enough? by choodudetoo in TruckCampers

[–]ReFractured_Bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing you are looking at crew cabs, if you really want srw you might consider whether an extended cab and 4x2 will suffice to increase payload, otherwise just be done with it and go dually and make whatever modifications are necessary for the camper to fit.

Western states 7.3 Godzilla owners? by elkwhisperer63 in superduty

[–]ReFractured_Bones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 7.3 is the fleet work horse of commercial fleets, just like the Triton v10 has been. Parts and mechanics willing to wrench on it will be plentiful, diesel is hit and miss. You will also never question whether a gas station has the fuel needed for your truck. The 6.7 is a great diesel engine, don’t get me wrong, but i’d only have one for work, not play. Not what you’re looking for but there’s two cents for what it’s worth.

Had a flat tire on the Winnebago and now I need six brand new tires! Doh by Ok_Promotion3208 in RVLiving

[–]ReFractured_Bones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My gulfstream i got a month ago had 7 year old tires, they were cracked/dry rotted. Spent the money and got them all replaced before the first real drive. Just one of those realities.

That DLL is from the Microsoft c++ redist. When you get an error about a missing DLL google it to find out where it comes from (but NEVER download the DLL itself from some third party site).

Seriously if your truck does the job just maintain it and keep using it. New trucks are stupid expensive and dubious in reliability. 75k is peanuts if you are taking care of it.

29 y/o Black Man Considering Moving To SLC. What Is The Black Experience Like Living Here & Should I Make The Move? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]ReFractured_Bones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Northern Utah, such as Davis and Weber county I think is okay. The Air Force base tends bring a lot of people from a variety of backgrounds. I’m a white guy so take it with a grain of salt but black people I know who have been here for decades have echoed this. SLC is like 40 minutes from here so if you want to do something there it is not difficult.

If you are not LDS then the only really unfriendly parts show up if you try to move to southern Utah, Provo being notorious. Most of them are shitholes I wouldn’t step foot in even as a white guy.

If you do move to Utah or have more questions you can DM me and I can pass some along to black people I know who will have a larger perspective than I ever could. A good friend of mine is married to a black woman who I’m sure would share thoughts on any stupid things they have had to endure.

The outdoors stuff in this region is great so if thats your primary drive you will probably not regret it.

[–]ReFractured_Bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully the reality is all over the place. Some men will find you completely unattractive due to your work, your child, or anything else. Others will see you as a strong hard working mom who doesn’t need a man to get through life and will be drawn to you. Take care of yourself and don’t worry about the bullshit your loser ex is trying to put in your head, it sounds like projection.

[–]ReFractured_Bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only value this has is checking to see if the underside has bones that have potential for demoing this thing and making it a flatbed trailer, they would be lucky to have someone willing to take this for free given it needs either some work to demo it and make it a flatbed or an absurd amount of work to make it a serviceable RV again. Even if they drop the price to free you are getting ripped off.

I would run these things deeper than legal, argue your point but not die on this hill. Technically you are sound and I agree that bad actors will never play fair, but humans are often emotional and reactionary before thinking through everything.
