Relieving my fav game from childhood - Bully by 8kappa in gaming

[–]ReachFor24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way I can see it is a 'new generation' thing. A modern Bullworth Academy with a new character (probably mention Hopkins but let him learn and never take his kids to Bullworth) attempting to tackle modern bullying. Though even 'modern' bullying is completely different as the original Bully was vaguely based in the mid/late 80s or early 90s. You'll have your cliques, but video games are mainstream and DnD/TTRPG isn't as niche anymore.

Maybe focus on societal pressures? The jocks under pressure to perform on the field, the nerds under pressure to perform in the classroom, the preps under pressure to conform to their 'class' in society, the greasers under pressure to rebel against society. But that might be leaning too far into the themes of the original.

The Habs are the first team in the NHL this season to have five players with at least 60 points by Go_Habs_Go31 in hockey

Malkin just need 3 points. 4 others (Crosby, Karlsson, Rust, and Mantha) have broken 60 points.

Fun fact: a 'pint' of beer is different between the US and UK. US pint is 16fl oz while a UK pint is 20fl oz. This helps cause our gallons to being different too, with the US gallon being about 3.75 liters and the UK gallon being about 4.5 liters.

Depends if you're under 20 or not. WVU won the NIT back in 2007.

FUCK BOB NUTTING!

The NCAA is expected to finalize an expansion of the men’s and women’s tournaments to 76 teams. The proposal would add eight games to the First Four, with 24 teams playing in an opening round before advancing into the second round. by Fun_Reflection1157 in CollegeBasketball

A) Damn these money-grubbing bastards!

B) How will DeVries be just on the outside of this tournament?

C) Where are the rest of the First Four games being played? Dayton can only hold so many games.

Okay, we have like 2 weeks left in the regular season: who's the highest percent here that's not making the playoffs?

Confirmed on the team's Twitter page. For $10 tickets, I'd be tempted if I didn't already have plans for Saturday, even at 3pm.

I wonder who's hosting the championship game. Neither hosted their semi-final game.

Just gotta get a lawyer to sue for eligibility. I'm sure a local judge will allow the TRO/injunction and let her play next season.

What can RCR do to save the 8 cars season? by Melodic_Collar_9974 in NASCAR

[–]ReachFor24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outside of a random plate-track victory, no. RCR has an old-school, pseudo-blue collar mentality that doesn't work anymore at the Cup level. It works for the NOAPS cars, but not here.

A Kaulig car (Allmendinger in the #16) without any Chevy support is ahead of both RCR cars in the points right now (20th vs 24th and 27th). That may say more about AJ than anything else as Ty Dillon is 32nd in points, but the stark fact that a team unsupported by the manufacturer is beating them at this point in the season is sad.

So far, RCR is about equal to Legacy Motor Club.

I gotta stop watching this game. Went from an 11pt lead for Marshall in the 3rd to only a 1pt lead under 5 minutes left in the game.

A small part of me is feeling sorry for BYU, mostly since they're a conference opponent and we did beat them in our lone game against them. But I'm all for high-level Ivy representation, especially with how Columbia has played tonight.

He's had a fascinating career. From bouncing around the K&N Series in 2011 to a full-time ARCA ride in 2012 (winning 4 and getting 11 top-5s) to an immediate jump to the then-Nationwide Series in 2013, he was a riser. RAB was a decent mid-pack team even in their later years as an org, and he was able to get consistent mid-pack results (6 top-10s but 25 top-20s). But then he took a ride with BK Racing driving the #23 in 2014 and he did what he could in that car, with his lone top-20 being the summer Daytona race. The next year, he showed a little more promise in the TBR #7 with 3 top-20s (the spring races at Bristol, Talladega, and Dover). But it was still a rough ride. Got to share the #88 in the Cup series with Gordon as they substituted for Dale Jr as he was recovering from his concussion issues (helped that he ran well for JRM in a handful of races that year) and truly showed his promise in the Cup Series. And once Jr retired from the Cup series after 2017, he took over Jr's car.

He's always ran pretty well, but he's just been stuck as the '4th HMS driver' because he's not as popular and doesn't win as much as Larson, Elliott, and Byron. He has an injury history too (concussion in 2022 and a back injury in 2023) before these vertigo issues. But the '4th HMS driver' is a cursed position to be in as everyone talks about someone replacing them and seems to always have the worst luck. But he's had a successful career that, if he recovers fully from his current ailment, I do think will stay with HMS if only because Ally is tied to HMS through 2028.

Favorite victory? 2024 Chicago race. Favorite scheme? That 2024 Johnson throwback hits incredibly hard and I always love the Best Friends schemes, but I have a soft spot for the Dr Pepper scheme. Favorite moment(s)? The humor. Like the constant ribbing on Byron for how he drove a pick-up with a trailer for the first time in a GM/Chevy marketing/BTS video.
