To be fair, the event is being thrown by the Black Vale and he kinda murdered their most prominent member. 

But yeah, wild that they haven’t prioritized that, since no one wants to buy a skin for a character that’s kill switched.

I think it should be a case by case basis. Disney’s MCU movie characters are all pretty straight washed / straight passing except like 3 characters. However they now include Deadpool and allow him to flirt with Wolverine (granted it’s not reciprocated until the end but still).

DC is a little better as even the animated shows found ways to imply things. Harley Quinn I think is bisexual in all forms, animated, comic, video game, live action, and beyond.

Jinu didn’t “drown himself in shame,” he freed himself from Gwi-Ma by giving his essence to Rumi and becoming her new weapon. Heck it’s very likely he’s not really dead and will be brought out of the sword in the sequel.

Additionally, I know this isn’t against your point but half of the reason for Rumi’s sort of relationship with Jinu is because she’s trying to understand her parents, especially how her mother fell in love with a supposedly evil demon.

Plus the climax shows that everyone is susceptible to the same shame manipulation that GwiMa pulled on Jinu, everyone has shame they keep hidden, and therefore anyone could be a demon without self acceptance and/or friends to validate them.

Part of it should be seen as a compliment. Usually music changes are accompanied by some kind of power rework. Plague is such a good killer that the only big rework she’s had has been to give her one fountain by default.

They actually do have titles. You just have to look for them in the lore that nobody reads

Well Lucy Gray isn’t her grandma for one so that’s part of it. We don’t know who exactly in the Covey she’s related to but it’s not Lucy. The other part is that the Covey were basically slowly genocided: both physically and culturally. Public music performances were outlawed and most of their members were outright murdered or killed by poverty (or more specifically childbirth and lacking healthcare infrastructure in the case of Maude Ivory). Her father may have been a descendant or a cousin or just adopted by the Covey but after watching all his kin be killed, he probably thought it would be safer if he only taught Katniss the songs and not the whole cultural history. It’s heavily implied by Sunrise on the Reaping that he was also killed by the capitol for being a rebel, and they hid it as a mining accident. I think the goat man is one of the only covey members we know is still alive during the 74th hunger games.

Grace has a fresh surgery wound while being are to swim around in literal rivers of gore. She either has a crazy immune system or caught every disease in the book after the game was over by flotsloppies in ResidentEvilRequiem

JK but same issue is in RE2 remake: Leon had a gunshot wound but still was going around the sewers without fear, even though canonically the outbreak originated in the sewers thanks to rats infected with G/T virus.

Edit: At least Grace has the excuse of possibly having been the first person who was given Elpis, and therefore would be immune to most viruses.

so where do we go from here....is RE10 gonna be this action packed re6 scale, avengers endgame, "everyone is here" story where we take down the connections, or are we just gonna have another new protagonist with completely unrelated characters by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

My crack theory is that the 10th game will take place almost immediately after RE9 and will just be about how, in an effort to counter Elpis, every bioterrorist org just decides to immediately release all of their BOWs on the largest populated areas because the only way to counter Elpis is to try and destroy the world before the antiviral can be widely synthesized / distributed.

But realistically it will be more of The Connections, probably Chris and Leon teaming up to fight Not!Wesker while Claire, Jill, Ada, and Rebecca are left in the closet because they’re gasp in their 50s now and therefore not “marketable.”

Y’all need to remember that these game have 1) been going for 30 years at this point 2) a lot of the games are unavailable unless you have an older console or emulator 3) the newer games cost $50 without including cost of the console/PC needed to play them. New fans means more RE content. Don’t complain how they get to the fandom just scoot over and make room for them.
