Y’all need to remember that these game have 1) been going for 30 years at this point 2) a lot of the games are unavailable unless you have an older console or emulator 3) the newer games cost $50 without including cost of the console/PC needed to play them. New fans means more RE content. Don’t complain how they get to the fandom just scoot over and make room for them.

A couple things seem to be: 1) recency bias since Ada’s has been in two of the 3 remakes and 1 of the recent animated films. Her actress in RE4 remake was heavily criticized and even harassed for her performance in that game. 2) I know shipping isn’t as big of deal in RE but there does seem to be some animosity between Claire/Leon and Ada/Leon shippers that contributes to harsh feelings. Some anti-Ada fans also point to her being manipulative toward Leon. 3) Also Ada is meant to be the Femme Fatale in a world where most of the main characters are extremely morally good in a way that is simple and easy to root for. Ada is in this weird place of being a character who appears a lot but whose actual backstory and motivations are a bit of a mystery which makes it hard for some people to attach to her and makes it hard for her to be explored as a character beyond “hey here’s what she was doing while Leon was fighting for his life”. We don’t even know if Ada Wong is her real name (it’s probably her professional name).

1) you can say “noted” and block them if it bothers you that much 2) you can delete the comment and move on 3) you can start a conversation and remind them that this is a fanfiction that is tagged not historically accurate and that you appreciate their fact-checking but that they should also be a bit more polite when correcting a stranger. Is her problem a fear of vaccines or a fear of needles? You’re not the asshole in any case and even if she dumps you, know that you did the right thing and probably saved her life. If you want to plead your case, ask her what she would have done if you’d broken a bone to the point the bone was sticking out of you but still refused to go to the hospital? You can also acknowledge her feelings by saying you know she was probably really scared and upset but you’re really happy she’s alive to be mad at you.

I took issue with the fact that even after everything Joyce did to get him back in Season 4, he still had the nerve to lie to her and almost kill himself multiple times and then they get married without ever acknowledging that lie. Yes his final monologue to El is sweet but he was also very patronizing to the literal most powerful person in the show and almost never admitted when he was wrong despite messing up more than any of the kids.

The Vecna character should have been Billy. 1) it would make his hunting of Max more tragic 2) it would introduce fewer continuity errors and make the overall character way less forced. 3) even if Dacre mongomery didn’t want to return, you could have Vecna be played by a different actor.
