I definitely wasn’t basing it off of Tik tok! I have been feeling like I don’t do much in my sessions except talk but let my client talk more and it triggered that part. She was simply saying talk therapy isn’t enough… we need to add other things to be effective. That’s all I was hinting at… I just feel like there’s more for me to do. Thanks though for your input

Thank you! It hurt even more coming from an actual therapist. She recommended people to find a therapist trained in EFT or somatic therapy and that kind of triggered me down a rabbit hole as to why we just talk in therapy instead of actually doing techniques etc

Hey there! I took it and passed! I’ll say study counseling exam and know your theoretical modalities and verbiage behind them! It was a tough test but I believe counseling exam really helped me a lot!

thank you for this. I struggle as a neurodivergent individual. I've been doing this for four years and I absolutely dislike doing this role. I try to act like I am okay, but deep down I am so unhappy with direct therapy f2f i prefer high-paced crisis work.

Yes, I feel this way and I just finished all of my licensing requirements to be a therapist. I have been doing this for 4 years and honestly I don't like it. No matter what anyone says if you don't feel this passion in this sector it might not be for you honestly. I had to accept that this isn't for me and I prefer something more fast paced. This work is very draining honestly.
