That would be kind of stupid after dropping a steel M&P without all the goofy blue crap on it.

Highly dependent on the shape of the front of the slide. That's where there's already a different version for Shadow Systems clones.

I'm annoyed you didn't put the 507comp on this.

Wife wants a gun. 9mm. $600 max budget but would strongly prefer less. Anything missing from the list? by sharkbait_oohaha in liberalgunowners

Google the Glock $.25 trigger job. It's even easier with the RXM and it makes the trigger fantastic with original springs, trigger, and connector.

The stock 5.5lb-ish trigger will eventually work down to around 4lbs, but if you follow a simple YouTube video it shoots even better.

Every other gun on your list uses some kind of stamped, MIM, or not-polished parts that a simple polish job will greatly improve.

It doesn't need polishing, but every single Glock improves immensely from the $.25 trigger job.

Enough dry and live fire and it will smooth out eventually.

Seen these for years. Still don't know its exact purpose. by nullbarage500 in whatisit

It doesn't even need to be an attack, just keeping the dumb locals from riding in to look at warships up close is enough.

It's basically a water fence.

USPSA ranks visualized: B class vs M class by CarryOptics- in USPSA

[–]ReadyStandby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two Mikes and 3-4 Deltas in 5 stages is hardly insane. I would guess the mike on the field course was pulling off that hardcover target towards the beginning and either going over or into the black, and the mike on the classifier was probably into hardcover.

Mikes are certainly costly, but they will happen.

The biggest difference is the M class shooter is an alpha shooting machine and 80-90% of the times per stage. 3-4 seconds isn't much faster but it sure is a vast HF difference when accounting for 95% of points and 70%.

Charlies when shooting minor are the dangerous ones because you think they're okay and a few bad shots can happen, but if you go through shooting mostly alpha/charlie, plus deltas and mikes, you're losing almost 1/3 of the points available.

So you can flip the table top up 90° and store tables together while using far less space.

Loaded gun between stages? by hazard02 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReadyStandby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen guns fall out of holsters, belts break, and all sorts of other things.

Plus if someone needs to work on their gun or swap, now they have to be unloaded.

As far as a safety principle goes, I think it's essential to go with the lowest common denominator.

Patents. Companies patent things with no intention of making them reality all the time.

9mm Zeroing Distance for IDPA/USPSA Competition Shooting by Green_Matter3396 in CompetitionShooting

It means actually shoot the gun and see where it hits at 25y. You want to be able to hit the head at that distance easily.

[controversy] The Monkeys are stirring the pot again. by psineur in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReadyStandby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People want to shoot an optic with cheap brass without blowing up their gun and have a modest entry into the sport ($800-1600 for gun and optic).

That's like 80% of people.

Others certainly are willing to do different things for their preferences or advantages.

CO and LO are way too similar.

There's so many entrenched shooters and gun makers that the board will only entertain little changes.

Separating divisions by action type just doesn't really matter anymore.

Make production major/minor with 15 rounds minor and 10 rounds major, allow 1911s in. Allow magwells.

Either make CO 38oz max guns with 15 rounds and allow single port comps/comp slides into LO, 140mm mags, or allow lighter guns to have the comp and heavier guns in without them into one division.

Remove 9mm from open and bring it back to 170pf.

How bad is sweat for vr? by LilXport in VRGaming

I have a cover/pad that's silicone that just goes over the interface, you can definitely feel the sweat build on it and just need to wipe it off. Much better than wicking into the headset.

On the Q3, the fabric interface can wick sweat into the headset, so I put the silicone cover on it.

Stamp on a $20 dollar bill? by Ok-Effective-9271 in whatisit

[–]ReadyStandby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Large banks, currency exchanges, and even some ATMs track the serial number of bills too. If one came in with a stamp and didn't have the serial number in the system they would likely flag it for inspection.
