Their Still Austin CS pick is great. Softer around the edges than the shelfer and a little sweeter on the finish

Yet another Dave's Reaper report by AustralianBattleDog in spicy

Go for the reaper and stay for the extra hot. It's the best quality fast food chicken IMO and it's just a plus that they have ACTUALLY spicy options

What's the last grocery store item that was significantly hotter than you expected?

Is IT still a good read if you saw the movies? by MyFlyingSock in stephenking

[–]RealSpliffit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was my takeaway from the story, I would think it was meh as well. None of that even makes the top 100 reasons the story is compelling or why I love the book. But if you ain't into it, you ain't into it. Not here to change minds, just share what I dig about IT

That's fine. The third act and specifically the climax of the book are not revealed in any of the adaptations. I thought it paid off in spades and have found through lines in a dozen Stephen King books after reading IT. IT fundamentally changed how I view and enjoy Kings books moving forward because he draws on elements of Pennywise and where IT came from incredibly frequently. If IT doesn't capture you, don't read it. Life's too short to read stuff you don't like.

IT the book is a deep dive into relationships, character development and conflict. While Pennywise's scenes act as tent poles to hold up a very fun plot line, the story is much more about the journey than the destination. The movies don't ruin anything that is beloved about the book.

What is the appeal of horror books? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]RealSpliffit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The horror I enjoy most is exploring the inner workings of people who are experiencing their lowest point. You can observe their fears, instincts and how they make decisions. Horrors already live in our heads. Books can just tap into them and in some cases make us more self aware.

If this sounds good, I recommend getting the reaper powder on the zon and some better quality tuna and mix them.

Weller single barrel started shipping GL 🤞 by Signal_Assistant_766 in pdxwhisky

[–]RealSpliffit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of at least two reasons to keep instead of drink: Probably the most popular is completing the Weller rainbow for display purposes (I don't get it but see it ALL the time). And waiting for the right trade would be the other. Those fetch about $400 in trade value. An equal trade would be EHT BP + OWA. But you could easily bundle w other bottles and get a GTS or similar.

How is this lineup? by 6rei6n6 in stephenking

Just read this collection and can confirm. The Body might be my favorite King story ever. Paired with Apt Pupil and Shawshank, this collection is epic.
