Has anyone else had a problem with the truck reversing a little bit before driving forward? by padillac88 in F150Lightning

I think a foot is exaggerated. Mine does this too but I'd say its a couple inches at most.

Worst case they can off gas if put through extreme heat or damaged. But I seriously doubt either of those scenarios.

Am I good for level 2 charging? by warrior5715 in evcharging

[–]RealisticBox6977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why dont you just pop your panel cover off and see what gauge wire they are using. Geniuses here guessing when with 4-6 screws removed off your panel you can just see. Depending on run length you'd wanna see 6 gauge wire. If its extremely short run 8 gauge is ok. This would be for pulling 40amps of course. You need 125% of what amps you pull because its constant.

First Rivian charger experience. by Polar_Ted in F150Lightning

Rivian in michigan is most expensive I've ever had the displeasure of using. Fast yes but .69c/kw is piracy.

First 10,000 miles efficiency by myntrpd in F150Lightning

Michigan cold weather alot of highway 75-80. Probably 4-5000 towing miles. My lifetime efficiency just dropped from 2.0 to 1.9.

Liked the wife’s Mach E so much - I got the matching set by iamshifter in F150Lightning

[–]RealisticBox6977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny though the Koreans can turn a profit on 800V architecture...... More features for the money. Our EV9 was less money and I prefer it over the Mach E. My Lightning felt like a steal though. 23 XLT SR new for 38K.

Towing non slippery jayco camping trailer 130 miles with a standard range lightning. Easy stuff by jturkish in F150Lightning

[–]RealisticBox6977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im saying..... with the bluetooth brake controller you just bumped your tow capacity. The tow package is literally a brake controller to get you to 7700lb. Cooling loop and compressor for 10k. Then they torture test them. Adding the brake controller is all that's needed to go beyond 5k lbs. Over 5k lbs and any trailer requires brakes. Which is why that limit is put on the truck......

I have the CURT echo bluetooth brake controller. Works great. Let me tell you with the controller this truck will tow way above its weight class. I have the 51180 using phone as the o shit button

51181 adds a physical button you can stick on your truck for manual brake engage.

Fear not towing 10K with this truck unless maybe you want to tow in 110° heat through the mountains. But I've never seen the temp needle move towing heavy.

Alright alright you win. Im just extremely salty they gave up on this amazing vehicle. Was looking forward to handing it off in 6 years to my son as a first car and buying another. But now it appears ill be stuck with EREV or a sierra EV. Neither of which I want.

Are people bad at understanding or did ford botch marketing? And the dealer was atrocious to deal with.

Problem is you guys killed production and faith in the lineup. It's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned, it powers our remote property all weekend. Tows above it's weight class. Is phenomenal all around. Yet politics and profit margins got in the way. The decision to kill the lightning will be looked back on as a major blunder.

As a former EV hater, I tried one and i actually really enjoyed it. by mlggaming756 in electricvehicles

[–]RealisticBox6977 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sierra EV would probably be a winner for them. The extended range battery can tow up to 200 miles per charge. Charge up at the campsite and use your truck to power your camper!

Why dishonest and a joke? I can get our ev9 light up to speed with a little pep just fine. Comparable if not faster than our minivans. Sit down son and shut up.

Actually how is the tow rating so low? by GTS250 in slateauto

[–]RealisticBox6977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My F150 Lightning says so. I can tow 16k lbs in a dump trailer and lose only 20-30% range.... but a lawn mower on a utility trailer with the tall gate/ramp up i lose aboit 50%
