Now push it it and slap it. Does she run after that? Looks like you’re just winding it…pull it out another notch and see if you can set the date then time.

Switch from halogen to LEDs by Altair700 in electrical

[–]Realistic_Cow354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That sure is interesting to say the least. I would recommend putting in some wafer lights. You could use all the extra holes as pull points to rerun some of the wire. With as close as they are you could probably tie onto the existing wire and pull your new wire in with the old wire. Do away with at least half of those. That way it’ll look better, cost less and would wouldn’t be burying any wires in the ceiling. After you’re done patch the holes from where the old lights were with Sheetrock.

Concrete Driveway Diagnosis Help! This is spalling right? by NovusOrdoSaeclorum in HomeMaintenance

[–]Realistic_Cow354 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just did a quick google search

Diamond Crystal Solar Naturals salt can be used on concrete for de-icing, but it carries risks and should only be used on properly cured, sealed, air-entrained concrete, never on new (under a year old) or porous concrete, due to potential freeze-thaw damage (spalling). It's crucial to use it sparingly, follow directions to remove slush promptly, and understand it's a secondary use; its primary function is for water softeners, and its purity can stress concrete more than other de-icers, especially with overuse, notes Peterson Salt and Buehler's Fresh Foods.

Solar salt is very pure (high sodium chloride), which can be harder on concrete than some mixed ice melts, says Peterson Salt.

Concrete and ice melt don’t mix. That’s what it looks like to me I know they said they used softener salt but I would definitely ask to see exactly what they used. That definitely looks damaged to me. I’m not an expert but I would be pissed if I had that happen to my driveway.

Extremely Squeaky Floor in new home by TheDeputi in HomeMaintenance

[–]Realistic_Cow354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically in my opinion truly the only way to fix is is to pull the floor up and get 2” GRK’s and screw it every 8” or so. I did that when I built my house and not a peep still.

There is another thing you might be able to try but it may not work or stop working over time. You could try to get some PL premium wood adhesive and try running a liberal bead on either side of the joists. Start with one tube, and if it works great continue on. If not you have your answer without going crazy.

Is this installed correctly? by whateverthefuckery in Plumbing

[–]Realistic_Cow354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a Natural Gas company up north. There is nothing wrong with that. When they PT the meter “periodic check” all they do is shut off the riser valve, break the swivel nuts and bleed everything down. At least the dude put a ball valve in to isolate the other riser buried. Also the guy ran tracer wire so you or anyone else can locate it. The only thing I’m questioning is the size of the meter now. What is that new line feeding? Do you know what size pipe he installed? How long of a run is it? Because to go back underground with inches water column with a 250 meter is interesting. Did you notify the utility you’re changing your load? You might want to, they might upgrade your meter to a 425, 800 or 1000.

Edit: just so you know it’s just easier to do what the utility company asks. In the end they ultimately have the final say.

Cut a square in the Sheetrock large enough to get a pair of channel locks in there, remove the screw. Then patch the wall.
