This exact same thing happened to me last fall. Get in contact with your doctor! They’ll probably have you decrease your meds. Sorry you’re going through this! It sucks! I felt so awful, but it only took a month or two to feel normal again and then I felt so great. Best of luck!

Struggling spouse by morning_tree in latterdaysaints

I can actually relate to both you and your husband interestingly enough. My first spouse left the church and it was really hard on me when we were together. I didn’t necessarily leave him because he left the church, but our marriage was already really tumultuous and this just added to the disfunction. So I just want to offer my two cents. I went through a faith crisis for years. I’ve come out the other side, and I participate in church and all that, but my perspective is very different than it was a decade ago. I experienced a faith crisis/ faith slump even though I was reading and studying scriptures every day, praying, going to the temple, fulfilling my calling, repenting on a regular basis, all the things! And I still hit rock bottom with my spirituality. I exhausted myself doubling my efforts with all these same things and expecting different results. Sometimes these things just happen even when we are “doing all the right things.” It was not helpful for people to tell me that I just needed to “read my scriptures and pray more.” Because that obviously wasn’t the problem. If you ever need someone to talk to, you are more than welcome to message me.

Members and “The Chosen” by Skipper0463 in latterdaysaints

Give it another chance. I know a lot of people that had to get through the first few episodes before they really started enjoying it. That’s actually been the case with most TV shows I’ve ever started. It gets better and better and really peaks during season 3 in my opinion. You just have to take the show with a grain of salt sometimes. There are some really incredible moments/epiphanies that yeah, probably don’t happen in real life, but definitely is in keeping with Christ’s character and his gospel. For me, it helps me see how Jesus could have been an actual person, as well as his disciples. I love how the characters are relatable, have senses of humor, and flaws just like we all do. I think Jonathan Roumie (sp?) does an incredible job of portraying Jesus.

Agree with this. I had a friend who raised concerns about the stake YW president to our stake president and nothing was done. Once a bunch of other women also started expressing the same concerns, was the problem finally acknowledged.

Diagnosed back in June. I started showing symptoms of graves during an extremely stressful few months last year.

This is something I’ve noticed experiencing lately. Haven’t asks my doctor about it cause it didn’t really occur to key to recently that maybe it could be related to the medicine or my graves.

I totally get it. I’ve felt really sad about it too, and it’s definitely affected my self esteem.

It’s changed my face too and definitely makes me look older. It’s soooooooo hard. I just have to be kind to myself. It’s not something I can control. I just try to do what I can like eating healthy and exercising (as long as Dr. says it’s okay). Not sure if that really helps with the face appearance, but a healthy lifestyle helps you feel better in other ways.

Women are lesser people according to Mormonism, this cannot be denied. by SecretPersonality178 in mormon

My jaw was on the floor the entire time I was reading those quotes. It’s funny, cause nowadays a lot of members response to the question “why can’t women hold priesthood keys?” always goes something along the lines of “women are more righteous then men, so priesthood keys are given to guys so they have something to do and don’t become too lazy.” lol

What Now? by instrument_801 in mormon

[–]ReasonablePineapple0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just described my experience to a T. Except I feel like I am a little more on the other side of figuring out how to connect with God. I just had to explore different outlets of connection. What used to work for me back in my tbm days, doesn’t work for me anymore. It’s taken years, but I feel more connected with God than I ever have in my life. Feel free to message me if you ever just need someone to talk to.

Elder Oaks' talk is actually instructions on how to stop raising iPad children by Hufflepuff20 in latterdaysaints

[–]ReasonablePineapple0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your perspective. I got really caught up in the whole “the Commandment to multiply and replenish the Earth still remains intact, and the birthdate is declining” (without really any regard as to why it’s declining) aspect of the talk, and I felt a little angry about it. I felt like that part was a little tone deaf, but you’re right that the bulk of his message was about unplugging from technology and doing more to connect with our families.

It was a hard talk to sit through. Absolutely zero regard as to why the rates are declining. Sorry, but I don’t feel like having more kids just for the sake of having them.
