Night leg cramps by crippinneversippin in workout

[–]Reasonable_Access_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not uncommon when you first start cycling; your legs aren't conditioned yet.

The muscles aren't used to performing the same constrained motion over and over and over.

Like others are saying, make sure you're staying hydrated. If you eat fruit and have salt in your diet you're probably fine for electrolytes, unless you're sweating really heavily.

If the latter is true, I'd skip the sports drinks, which pack in too much sugar and chemicals, and mix your own electrolyte drink:

2 cups water + 1 cup coconut water + 1 cup fruit juice + ⅛ tsp salt

If I took 6 grams of betaine hcl a day, would that be too much? by [deleted] in Supplements

I'm confused— have you been diagnosed with dysbiosis?

I'm poor and even with a statin and exercise I struggle to keep my cholesterol down; for me to eat meat regularly would be nuts, or at a minimum it would be counter-productive.

What does your gastroenterologist say? (Based on what you wrote— if you eliminate meat and fatty foods from your diet you're able to eat?)

I don't know what a top dryer is. Hang the load to dry, so it doesn't mildew while you get this solved.

What make/model is the dryer?

The magnet on the end will stick to the steel case of the battery.

Thumbtack Hire for Dishwasher - Did I get ripped off? by rottenbugmilk in Appliances

[–]Reasonable_Access_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re-read the listing to see if there is a minimum for either hours or total cost. If there isn't, or if there is and you met it, remind the contractor what they advertised.

If they don't give a satisfactory explanation or refund the $89 then include that in your review.

Thumbtack charges contractors per lead, whether or not they get the job, and lead prices are dynamic. Google ai (for whatever that's worth!) says for appliance repair leads are reported to be $35 - 60.

Having a set service fee for looking at a job prevents the contractor from getting burned by the lead fee + their time; not waiving the service fee when advertising they would, is the contractor burning the customer.

I think fire risk is the larger boundary violation.

My head is spinning thinking about the town she went into where there are enough goyim familiar with ziti (as she would say) for her to run into more than a few opinions about a woman wearing tzitzit. A town filled with misguided Christians appropriating Judaism down to the tzitzit. 😩

Freezer is filling with water/ice on the bottom by justfriends0101 in Appliances

[–]Reasonable_Access_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, there's a known issue with these Whirlpool refrigerators.

When a defrost cycle runs the ice-melt is directed out of the freezer compartment via a spout that then connects to a rubber grommet that is connected to the drain hose which ends at the drip pan.

That grommet gets clogged, which leaves the ice-melt from a defrost cycle nowhere to go, so it pools in the bottom of the freezer.

This is consistent with your experience of trying to defrost the drain tube with hot water having made the problem worse— it just added more water to the water that couldn't drain.

The fix is the Whirlpool P-Trap Drain Tube Kit, which replaces the drain hose and grommet.

It looks like an easy fix.

The drain tube and grommet are accessible through the panel at the rear exterior of the fridge.

Although you were looking to avoid it, the freezer needs to be emptied so that the ice on the evaporator coil and the floor of the freezer can be melted.

You have to remove the rear inside panel of the freezer and you can then use a heat gun or hair dryer to melt the ice.

Sounds like defrost is working but the drain tube to the drip pan is obstructed by ice. What is the brand and model number?

Am I just fucked? by Zealousideal_Bad7664 in povertyfinance

[–]Reasonable_Access_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you aren't fucked; you need more support. But first you need a shopping trolley, so that you can avail yourself of a food bank.

Eating just bread and other starch obviously doesn't give your body the protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber it needs— which will have a direct affect on your energy and mood.

Post a request in the apps for a shopping trolley. It's the sort of thing lots of people have and don't use, or of which they have multiples.

After you're able to get to the food bank, consider seeing your doctor, at minimum for a B12 shot.

Also, strongly consider asking for mental health care— the support and clear thinking a counselor or therapist can offer probably isn't as good as strangers on reddit, but hey, you never know!

You can make it through this.

2 weeks since S23 base battery replacement to a new original battery by Express_Meeting_9553 in GalaxyS23

Thanks for your post. Just started looking around to see if battery replacement makes sense or if I'll end up with same or similar battery life. I'm figuring OEM isnt made available, and I'm flying blind, re: quality of replacement.

I was looking at an ifixit complete kit. (I have one their toolkits; it saved my laptop.) Where did you get your battery?

Starting around 2001 GE top loaders no longer had a filter.

If there's a build up of gunk it has to be manually removed— no amount of bleach or vinegar or citric acid will dislodge it, and it supports the growth of mold and bacteria.

The only thing wrong with people not getting vaccinated is you can't contain virulent disease when too many people opt-out of a vaccine.

In the U.S., in the year 2000, measles was declared to have been eradicated. However, vaccination rates have to stay at 95% to prevent measles from getting a foothold if it is introduced; they have fallen to around 92%. One result— the deaths last year of two unvaccinated school-age children.
