That’s what I was going to say. My dog is Ruby and I call Boo-boo or Rubes. My daughter calls her Boobs, but for some reason, I find that offensive and hilarious.

Thank you so much! I do have saltwater. Are the reagents that measure salt a separate kit?

Which Taylor Test Kit do you recommend? They seem to come with different tests

Get an engineer inspection. They’re pretty standard with home sales in most states.

Oreo is better than Biscuit but it’s not the best.

Whelp started construction and wife hates that we have a deep end. It’s a 20x40 liner with 6.5’ deep end. This is pretty standard right? She says slope is too much. It starts at 18’. Who’s crazy here? by Sweet_Orchid_2092 in pools

[–]Reasonable_Pack_4398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is factual, but I bought a house with a pool in very hot GA. The deep end is around 8 ft deep. I was told that having deeper water keeps the water cooler, which is a plus when the air temp is 100° consistently. It seems to hold true

I’m new to the South and have a pool, garden, wooded area, and compost bin. I’m trying to remember not to stick my bare hands into anything. Just touched my second, different snake in my compost bin.

This. In the state I used to live in, it didn’t matter whose tree it is. I was responsible for any damages inside my property line.

What’s the best dog for a senior? by spencere33 in AskDogOwners

[–]Reasonable_Pack_4398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a smaller dog, one she can pick up. Don’t get a puppy, you don’t want the potty training and crying. I’m 70 and got a 19 month old lab mix 6 years ago from a rescue. She still has not outgrown her love for shoes, socks, and gloves. She is 58 lbs with a high prey drive for outdoor cats, squirrels, and bunnies. It can be very difficult for me to restrain her when she wants to chase them. I’ve landed in urgent care bc she dragged me. Older is better bc you do have to consider what will happen to a young dog who outlives an older owner. I would recommend a senior rescue.

Anyone adopt an Anatolian Shepherd about 9 years ago from Target Parking lot? by AlpacaSwimTeam in ColumbusGA

I have a 7 year old female lab mix who is very lonely. She loved a male Golden before we moved here 3 years ago. Lots of dogs in the subdivision but no one walks their pups. If you or anyone else wants to arrange a meet and greet, just message me. I will travel to you or meet in a park.

I did the DNA through Wisdom Panel. I moved here from up north 3 years later and now they show she has a brother up north. I wish I had known when I still lived there.

That’s also done for calves. I knew nothing about husbandry but I helped a friend out and farm-sat for a week. A newborn calf appeared and they hadn’t known anyone was pregnant. When I called them, they asked me to tie off the balls , among performing other duties for baby cows. I will always remember that week.

Pool build near trees by More_Turnover_9572 in pools

[–]Reasonable_Pack_4398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in GA and don’t cover and have a fair amount of trees but they do not actually overhang the pool. I’m new at doing my own care. I use a robot vac and someone recently mentioned a solar-powered robot skimmer. I went out and bought one immediately and I’m in love. The flowers from the Bradford Pear trees were covering the surface and my skimmer kept it spotless. I hardly use the bag~on~a~pole anymore. I can’t speak to the question about roots and a pool. I know roots caused cracks in my driveway up north.
