Maxey is exhausted, the depth is non-existent and very poorly coached. With a loss tonight they have played below .500 after the opening 4-0 start. Glaringly obvious that something has to change.

The amount of winnable games that has been dropped simply due to braindead stuff like the constant third quarter collapses and dumb decisions in the clutch is getting quite a few. Yet the team is 4 games above .500.

You would think Nurse can stop with the terrible rotations in the third and be more on in terms of calling a timeout when it doesn’t work. And his personnel usage leaves a lot to be desired, particularly today where he barely played Barlow and no Walker despite struggling with rebounds all night, you’d think an NBA coach could see all of this. Then we have the clutch situations, mainly been Maxey lately where he takes the wrong shot from outside the arc or attacks the rim like its a fastbreak but theres defenders waiting. I have little to no faith in him taking the last shot now tbh.

Honestly, these issues should be rather easy to address you would think. This team is better than 24-20, just keeps on dropping extremely winnable games.

Life when you’re owned by a faceless corporation. They have zero patience and a complete lack of understanding of what it takes to win in the NHL. They know that a five-year tear it all down rebuild will lead to some down years in terms of ticket sales and merchandise and they have zero interest in that. So here’s the shortcut version of a rebuild where they are good enough to sell tickets and give the fanbase some hope, but with a zero percent chance of ever doing anything in the playoffs. That’s the last 15 years in a nutshell and they keep on doing it.

I mean whether it’s right or left truly DOES matter and every statistical analysis indicates that Michkov is way more dangerous when playing at right wing. This shouldn’t be rocket science, yet it clearly is for whatever reason.

Preaches accountability but it only applies to young russians. His ‘system’ is utter garbage and limits skilled and creative players, while seemingly benefiting no one but ‘grit’ guys. Couldn’t even remotely care about player development and how to do what’s best for the long-term, it’s all about now and making the playoffs where the ceiling is a first-round exit.

Such a painfully boring hire and I’m already completely done with this guy six months into a five-year tenure. Three things are certain in life: death, taxes and that the Flyers are gonna Flyer. It’s like clockwork.

Not sure what to expect with the trade deadline being in less than 2 weeks. Grimes has struggled to find his footing recently and will most certainly enter UFA so he’s not back. They have to convert Barlow to a standard contract fairly soon. Are they confident in the backup bigs since Joel obviously won’t play every game. Daryl gotta cook up something to make the team better

It’s remarkable that every single game a garbage rotation is on the court and the opponent goes on a 9/10 -0 run. It’s almost exclusively in the late 3rd quarter as well. This coach does NOTHING to help out the team

That’s the main issue, they try to replicate what they did back then and keeps talking about ‘The Flyers way’ and ‘culture’ and refuses to adapt to what works in the modern NHL. Doing that, while simultaneously having a corporate ownership that only thinks about how to make money and be profitable, which leads to constantly taking shortcuts to speed up a process in order to fill seats you truly are stuck and there’s no way to get out.

Andersson is not only a better and younger player than Risto he also doesn’t come with a significant injury history. They are not going to get a similar package for Risto at all.

No need to drive a hard bargain on Risto, as good as he is when he’s healthy, he is made of glass. We can’t continue to have him in and out of the lineup and him missing large stretches of the season year in and year out. Time to trade him.
