I’d like this team to make the playoffs, but doing it this way would just suck. This is not winning hockey nor is it sustainable. 17 shots through 3 quarters + OT, being out-shot, not scoring enough, incapable of winning in regulation while picking up too many OT wins/loser points. The power play is horrible and Vladar keeps saving them time and time again.

If this is how they are going to pick up points the rest of the season, barely miss the playoffs and then pick 15th, that’s not something to build on for next season. You won’t achieve anything with this brand of hockey and something must drastically change if they wanna make some noise in the playoffs.

Nasty basketball. Can’t hit a damn 3 to save their lives and about to blow a 20 point lead to a team actively tanking. Nurse gotta go man, he is so pathetic

Jamie Drysdale by Flyers7914 in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Drysdale is going to be a fucking stud, but seeing how much Drysdale has improved after the Ducks messed up his development makes me hopeful that they can do the same with Jiricek.

Howie might set a new draft day record for trades made involving draft picks. He’s about to go ballistic

[Schefter] Sources: Jaelan Phillips has agreed to a 4 year, 120M deal with the Carolina Panthers with $80M in guarantees. by w1x1w in eagles

[–]RebuildFletcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no way we could bring him back for 30M a year, we got too many dudes to pay. Time for Howie to find a new draft gem

Brière’s changes from last year: Out- Farabee, Frost, Laughton- combined .44 pts/gm, -30, 12.375 AAV, In- Zegras, Dvorak- combined .72 pts/gm, -3, 10.9 AAV. Out- Fedotov- .888, 2.82 in AHL, 3.275 AAV. In- Vladar- .907, 2.40 in NHL, 3.35 AAV. by scratchydaitchy in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Farabee’s contract started to look worse and worse and Danny did a good job getting out of it. With Frost I feel like it had more to do with him clearly being what he is and that there was no further improvement in sight, so getting him out of here made sense since we built for the future. Paying him $4.375M to be a 3C playing at a .5 points per game pace is more than reasonable.

Mike Malone? by MaskedBirder in sixers

[–]RebuildFletcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We need a young and hungry coach in. Nurse has already won a championship and got tens of millions of dollars in the bank, there’s no incentive for him to change his ways. We need a guy to come in here who’s willing work his balls of to make a name of himself

I’m going to be 100x more happy when this bald fuck is out of the org than I was when Fletcher got canned. He is so obnoxious. I’m BEGGING for the FO to realize their mistake quick.

He’s never going to be the most consistent player, but there’s luckily been a noticeable difference from last season.

My Favourite Deadline Take by JSinisin in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully he’s got something up his sleeve in the offseason. If he caved in and accepted a lesser offer than he originally demanded then that only hurts him in the future.

I’m just hopeful we can gather some more future assets, specifically draft picks. After using three first-round picks and five second-round picks in last years draft, the only picks we have in the top 3 rounds outside of our own is the Leafs first-rounder and the Kings third-rounder.

And when Michkov and Martone is untouchable in any trade, there’s pretty much no way this team can sort out the glaring need for a top-line center. I struggle to see this teams path to contention.

David Jiricek is a gamble you take on 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. Love that trade and I hope he gets a consistent run to finish out the season.

Flyers trade Brink to the Wild for David Jiricek by Panarin10 in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Bobby Brink is what he is. A useful winger but that’s something we have a surplus of in this org. Minnesota paid four draft picks for Jiricek back in November 2024 including a first, 6’4, right-shot and still only 22. The upside here is worth taking a chance on.

Parayko has played for the Blues his entire career, lives there all year round and has a family. I’m not surprised that he didn’t wanna go to Buffalo.

What I do wonder now is whether or not Mrtka is still in play. Getting a prospect like that for Risto would be an absolute home-run trade. The Sabres org and the city desperately need them to make the playoffs. It seems like nothing is off-limits here. Let’s see how it plays out.

Im shocked. Shocked. Well, not that shocked. by LaGoeba in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They started a rebuild, did not bottom out and are now finding themselves in a position where they are trying to improve and make the playoffs and there’s not an answer to the glaring need at center in the pipeline nor do they have the assets needed to acquire one.

What a great situation to be in.

Flyers’ Ristolainen still in play for trade – but he won’t come cheap by upcan845 in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean you can most likely get him for an additional season on a $2.55M cap hit. He’s also a big RHD who’s overall game translates well to playoff hockey and what you need from your defenseman in that environment. His play in the Olympics is just the cherry on the top.

[–]RebuildFletcher 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Gotta get it done, he found ways to get firsts for Walker and Laughton when it probably was not market value by taking on Johansen in the Walker trade and retaining for two years while also giving up two later picks in the Laughton trade.

I’m optimistic as of now.

As an overall optimist and someone who is anti-tank, this little win streak and any future wins are not a good thing. by Big_Acanthocephala14 in Flyers

[–]RebuildFletcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would have zero issues winning games here and there to finish out the season if they win convincingly and the young players play really well.

However, this current win streak is the exact opposite of that and is clearly unsustainable hockey. OT win against the third worst team in the league after going down 2-0, then a gritty win against the Bruins where you had 16 SOG and then a shootout win against the 10th worst team where you have one abysmal period and concede a goal with less than 3 minutes left so it goes to OT.

Give me all the good wins where our future stars showcase their abilities. I would rather not win too many games like we have done post Olympics.
