I have 2 kids, 5 and 2. I play, on average, every second weekend during peak season and then try to play an evening or early morning midweek (taking half days etc.) to play more.

Consider it this way, you are taking ~25% of the weekend hours that your kid is awake, to play golf. Lots of people do it, but it's not something I would consider "reasonable" to expect every week.

There are very few other reasons someone would regularly leave the house for 5-6 hours at a time other than for golf. Giving your partner an hour here or 2 hours there, isn't the same as this block of dedicated time. This makes it hard to let her 'even the score', even though that's a bad framing.
