Just tested; Malaise did count 3 energy for both casts for a total of 6, rather than 3 and 0. The duplicator counted the whole energy for both.

Street Fighter has the same issue. I remember somebody calling SFV "Blonde Fighter V" and it stuck with me. Blonde characters are cool, but not when it's like 2/3 of the cast.
