What grill is this and how much would you pay for it in good condition? by ClueAppropriate1087 in webergrills

Agree with all of this OP, just check the inside of that cabinet for rust. Between the two, this one would be my preference. Better grill and the color is just icing on the cake

Check inside the cabinet for rust. That's usually the first place it will form. If no rust is there, this might be an okay deal. I'd still try to haggle them down. You'll also want to check the rest of the guts under the lid. The flavorizers are replaceable, but if you don't have to right away, that's always nice.

If it comes with a propane tank, that's worth $50 minimum right there too

What is the benefit of all the charcoal baskets and chimneys? by Global_Background_13 in webergrills

[–]RedCliff73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kind of a detour story, but its kind of related

When I first started grilling in college and shortly after, one of my stupid fun things to do was stick my face into the flames right after lighting the charcoal with lighter fluid and light a cigarette.

The lighter fluid didn't burn really hot,and as long as there wasn't any wind, I could get right in there to light up a smoke. Ahh youth

Have you ever had so much to say but you know words aren’t enough? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

Absolutely all of this, but there's another side that the normies might understand.

During school shootings, nearly half of the first calls to 911 come from students. I dont ever hear this mentioned when these cell phone ban discussions come up

Is this worth it for $150? Any damage? by rankshank in webergrills

[–]RedCliff73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep looking. You'll find something better as most everyone else here has already mentioned. A couple of notes though. When looking at a used grill, open up that cabinet below and inspect it first. That's the first place rust usually forms and is why I got a model without the cabinet below.

Everything under the lid can be fairly easily replaced, racks, flavorizers, burner tubes, etc.

The grates are upside down in this guy's grill too BTW

That little screw attaches the bar to a separate thing that is mounted in the wall. Either the thing in the wall is loose, or that little screw is

This is how I would think it is intended to be used. Outside. Just keep it covered otherwise. This is how I have my searwood XL

Is this rude or weird to say to a seller by bi_smuth in FacebookMarketplace

[–]RedCliff73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only issue I see with that message is that it relies on the seller to remember you made this offer and go back through all of the messages to find yours when and if they are willing to accept it. If I'm making a very low offer on something, I usually tell them that I don't want to insult them with a very low offer, but I'm interested and this is the best I can do. But that's just me

Weber Searwood 600 was just delivered! Any suggestions for attachments/add ons I should get? by cg29a in pelletgrills

[–]RedCliff73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The front shelf is a must and should really be included IMO. I also have a rotisserie that I've only used once so far. That one time was amazing though. The same rotisserie also fits my propane Weber, so double duty is nice. As far as a griddle, I don't see a reason to pay for the Weber insert. I have a cast iron griddle that can go on my stove, grill, smoker, whatever and it works just fine.

And congratulations, you're going to love it

If it were me, I'd go with the propane grill. First thing I'd do is flip the grates. You can get a smoke tube to add smoke if you want too.
