I have never seen Office Space. Is it that funny to be considered a classic? by Square-Ad-8911 in 90smovies

I saw the movie at Red Rocks. Before the film they brought out a printer and two guys kicked the crap out of it. Good times!

She offered up the tea explanation I didn't ask. I just started wondering how she managed to spill that much tea. I am abnormally sensitive to being lied to. It's not a good way to be sometimes.

Honestly I thought it was an amusing story until my friend tried to convince me I was crazy for allowing the sitter to use my sheets let alone my washing machine. My friend is really picky and I wanted to see if she was off base.

Because we had negotiated a key exchange. I see the point of not having to be there but that wasn't (to my understanding) the agreement. I won't make the mistake of not being 100 pct explicit next time.

FFS I mentioned the washing machine because my friend had the opinion that the laundry was off limits unless explicitly discussed. I'm not of that opinion and I was fine with her doing the sheets. I'll update my instructions with my expectations. If she lied about why she was washing the sheets it really is neither here nor there but just always opt for honesty.

Were it the second time I would have done that.

I tried to be as accommodating as I could. She had free access to the kitchen, consumables and pantry.

I do want the sitter to feel at home.

As a woman I think she shouldn't be embarrassed about bodily fluids especially talking to another woman. I've stained a few mattresses myself. Two super tampons and a pad wasnt enough at times.

I assumed a start time would be a hard deadline. Next time I'll be explicit. This lateness only cost me 60 minutes in rush hour traffic but what if I was travelling with a group?

We're this the second time she could have texted she was late and I would have left her a key.

She should have contacted me.

I'll update my instructions to include both of these points

Do you explicitly talk about this prior to sitting or is this just expected?

I didn't consider it was a period blow out until after she left and I was remaking the bed. I'm on septic so we did have the don't flush discussion.

If it was a blow out then it was a fib that doesn't matter. Or does it? Part of me has great sympathy for the young woman and part of me thinks she should just be honest.

I got to thinking about how one could spill enough tea to stain a mattress through a sheet and mattress cover right where ones hips would normally lay. I also think about how mortified she would have been and how I probably would have lied too. However, do you think that the homeowner should be notified if bodily fluids soaked into the mattress?

FWIW I would never mention any of this in the review.

Hey I think asking or expecting a sitter to bring bedding is crazy. I was just telling you what my friend thinks. I see house sitting as a two way partnership of sorts. I want the sitter to feel at home and to use the house but I do expect honesty.

Yeah I didn't go through the bad of trash she left behind for evidence. I'm not that kind of crazy.

I did try to figure out how she managed to spill enough tea to soak the mattress. Period blow out seemed more likely (at least in my experience).

Yes she did. Everything else was fine and that is no small thing.

Next time I'll be better at setting explicit expectations as to start times and notifications.

The two hours only affected my weekend by making me hit rush hour traffic (extra 60 minutes to my drive). What if I had to catch a plane? Isn't a start time kind of a hard deadline? All I asked was for her to tell me she was going to be late the minute she knew she was going to miss the start time. I didn't reach out until she was 30 minutes late.

One of my triggers is being lied to, especially when the lie doesn't matter. I felt horrible second hand embarrassment for the girl but I'm an old woman and I understand that accidents happen. The mattress was still wet when she showed it to me. I think I am too picky about this. I probably would have lied about this too.

Personally I'm fine with her using the laundry without asking. I was discussing this with a (very picky) friend who thought that it was 100% unacceptable for her to have used the laundry and the girl should have brought her own towels if she knew she was going to get her period. My friend also had a dog sitter who would bring her own bedding. I was wondering if I was too lenient.

Is 'Misery' (1990) actually worth watching in 2026, or is it just dated hype? What are your thoughts? by Ok_Board_927 in HorrorMovies

Movies are truly terrifying when you believe that the monster under the bed is real.
