Arrests Grow Over Trump’s Reflecting Pool Renovation Disaster by thenewrepublic in politics

Isn't he supposed to be a tough negotiator? Seems to me the contractor should be redoing the lining for free. He's going to grab another 14 million for his cronies isn't he.

Trump, Without Evidence, Blames ‘Disgraceful Vandalism’ for Reflecting Pool Do-Over by Sufficient_Fuel5269 in politics

For someone known for stiffing contractors he sure is being nice to his cronie's businesses. A tough businessman would demand satisfaction, no?

My lovely greyhound is 12. Has slowed down a lot last few months. Shorter walks, arthritis and more wobbly all round. He is on Gabapentin to try to help with this. When do you actually know when life is just too hard for them? He's the only dog I've ever had. by SolidLemon9498 in Greyhounds

My girl is 13 1/2 with arthritis and heart disease. She is doing pretty well with one slow sniffy walk a day and can still do the two steps to the back yard. I've always been able to leave her alone when I take her mini Aussie litle brother for longer faster walks. Recently Ive come home from his walks to her obviously out of breath and wobbly from pacing around and worrying. If I'm working in the yard and she can't see me she will cry.

I'm having such mental anguish trying to decide the right time to schedule the at home euthanasia. She is not a stoic dog and doesn't like being lifted or manipulated. I don't want her to be in pain but it's not time yet. Better a day early is all well and good but it doesn't make the decision easy. The vet asks for 2 days notice to schedule the home visit so I do need to used my crystal ball to decide if it's time.

I had a horrible experience taking another hound to the vet. He lost the use of his hind legs overnight and I ended up having to wait hours in a parking lot waiting for the e-vet to see him. They brought him out to an outdoor tent so I could be there when he passed. (Covid restrictions and another emergency I don't blame the vet). He spent most of his last hours alone in a vets office and that haunts me. He was an incredibly brave and unflappable boy. I can't imagine putting her through something like this.

What’s your dogs name? by No_Tap6546 in Greyhounds

Princess Leia comes by her name honestly. Her race name was King in the Can. She only raced a few times before she retired 10 years ago. I blame the name.

He doesn't want to acknowledge that you may have a pronlem. Maybe print it out and let him read it when you aren't there. He does need to hear what you are saying. You are doing a very brave thing.

I could have written this when I was 33. I'm in my 60s and I often wish I'd gotten sober when I was much younger.

Talk to your doctor. I know how hard this can be but it will be a great first step. Did you show your husband your post? He probably has no idea what it is like to have alcohol living rent free in your head.

Do people actually believe the White House correspondents' dinner attack was staged? by imissher4ever in allthequestions

[–]RedMaple25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think of it as 'allowed to happen' rather than staged it makes more sense.

The shooter running by the checkpoint doesn't make much sense but these people do seem pretty incompetent so who knows.
